So, I tried something new and ordered leeks in my Misfits box. I've never made them before, but I found a KETO recipe for broccoli leek soup and made it.
Now I am NOT a picky eater--hence the need for the diet. But this soup just wasn't my thing. The flavor was ok, but the recipe calls for cooking the leeks and broccoli, adding the other ingredients, then using a blender to make it smooth(er) before serving. It just seemed like baby food with lots of little gritty leek pieces, plus it was a lot of work due to having to use the blender once I cooked everything. Too many dishes for a simple soup recipe.
I'm proud of myself for trying something new, especially since KETO gets boring sometimes. I'm not sure if I'll buy leeks again and just make a different recipe, or not.
Do any of you eat leeks?

Leeks are wonderful... if prepared properly. I personally would never cook leeks and broccoli together (even though I like both).
My copy of the Joy of Cooking has a recipe for braised leeks. They are ABSOLUTELY our favorite way to eat them. Simply delicious.
