VE day is May 8th. Have you ever celebrated? I think I want to. We need more celebrations in life! What would you do to celebrate?

That's a good idea, Mel! I've not celebrated VE Day before and I don't know why. I like to include lots of fun, little celebrations along with the big ones. For example, Pi Day (March 14), Star Wars Day (May 4), Cinco de Mayo (May 5), and so on, but for some reason, VE Day never made it on my radar. I'm going to do a little bit of research and report back on what I'm going to do.

What a great idea! I've not really celebrated it, but maybe it's a good excuse to cook up something from one of my WWII cookbooks!

I see that it is the 75th anniversary of VE day! I am thinking I'm going to make Lord Woolton pie and Wacky Cake!

Here in the UK we normally have a May Bank Holiday on the first Monday in May, but this year it's been moved to May 8th to celebrate VE day. I don't know what we'll do personally, but I know that some people are going to put out red/white and blue decorations and there may be some communal singing ( difficult while we're all still self isolating though!)
