well, you all know I am still renovating my home to make it look rustic American, Farmhouse, primitive whatever. Anything but shabby chique.... Anyway, my dream is a ladder to display a few quilts for decoration and I here is where my question comes in... what would be better, something like this or something more like that I know that one looks more like shabby chique.... but it reminds me of my childhood. We had ladders like that my grandfather and my dad used to prune the trees with.... The first one looks really cool though

I would be concerned about the more rustic one leaching sap onto the quilts. I personally prefer the second one, but that's knowing that if I had one, it'd get beaten up over time and looking more rustic. A compromise could be the more rustic sides, but polished rungs for the quilts. So it LOOKS primitive, but is kind on your quilts.

hmmm, thank you Leah. I haven't even thought of that. I have seen something like you are talking about, that might be a good idea. I didn't like it that much because it was too light for my taste, but maybe I find it in a darker color....I still have time.

If the wood can be sealed somehow or if you can maybe place a liner under your quilts to hang them on the ladder, I would definitely use the rustic one. Itβs not only gorgeous, but totally unique! I love your idea. β€οΈ
