Pro 29:1 He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy
Pro 29:2 When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh.
Pro 29:3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth his substance.
Pro 29:4 The king by justice establisheth the land; But he that exacteth gifts overthroweth it.
Pro 29:5 A man that flattereth his neighbor Spreadeth a net for his steps.
Pro 29:6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; But the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
Pro 29:7 The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor; The wicked hath not understanding to know it.
Pro 29:8 Scoffers set a city in a flame; But wise men turn away wrath.
Pro 29:9 If a wise man hath a controversy with a foolish man, Whether he be angry or laugh, there will be no rest.
Pro 29:10 The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect; And as for the upright, they seek his life.
Pro 29:11 A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it.
Pro 29:12 If a ruler hearkeneth to falsehood, All his servants are wicked.
Pro 29:13 The poor man and the oppressor meet together; Jehovah lighteneth the eyes of them both.
Pro 29:14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, His throne shall be established for ever.
Pro 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother.
Pro 29:16 When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth; But the righteous shall look upon their fall.
Pro 29:17 Correct thy son, and he will give thee rest; Yea, he will give delight unto thy soul.
Pro 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Pro 29:19 A servant will not be corrected by words; For though he understand, he will not give heed.
Pro 29:20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him.
Pro 29:21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child Shall have him become a son at the last.
Pro 29:22 An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.
Pro 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.
Pro 29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul; He heareth the adjuration and uttereth nothing.
Pro 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare; But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.
Pro 29:26 Many seek the ruler's favor; But a man's judgment cometh from Jehovah.
Pro 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous; And he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

The Words of Agur
Pro 30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh; the oracle. The man saith unto Ithiel, unto Ithiel and Ucal:
Pro 30:2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, And have not the understanding of a man;
Pro 30:3 And I have not learned wisdom, Neither have I the knowledge of the Holy One.
Pro 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in his garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?
Pro 30:5 Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that take refuge in him.
Pro 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, Lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Pro 30:7 Two things have I asked of thee; Deny me them not before I die:
Pro 30:8 Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me:
Pro 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or lest I be poor, and steal, And use profanely the name of my God.
Pro 30:10 Slander not a servant unto his master, Lest he curse thee, and thou be held guilty.
Pro 30:11 There is a generation that curse their father, And bless not their mother.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, And yet are not washed from their filthiness.
Pro 30:13 There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro 30:14 There is a generation whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, To devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
Pro 30:15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, Yea, four that say not, Enough:
Pro 30:16 Sheol; and the barren womb; The earth that is not satisfied with water; And the fire that saith not, Enough.
Pro 30:17 The eye that mocketh at his father, And despiseth to obey his mother, The ravens of the valley shall pick it out, And the young eagles shall eat it.
Pro 30:18 There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yea, four which I know not:
Pro 30:19 The way of an eagle in the air; The way of a serpent upon a rock; The way of a ship in the midst of the sea; And the way of a man with a maiden.
Pro 30:20 So is the way of an adulterous woman; She eateth, and wipeth her mouth, And saith, I have done no wickedness.
Pro 30:21 For three things the earth doth tremble, And for four, which it cannot bear:
Pro 30:22 For a servant when he is king; And a fool when he is filled with food;
Pro 30:23 For an odious woman when she is married; And a handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
Pro 30:24 There are four things which are little upon the earth, But they are exceeding wise:
Pro 30:25 The ants are a people not strong, Yet they provide their food in the summer;
Pro 30:26 The conies are but a feeble folk, Yet make they their houses in the rocks;
Pro 30:27 The locusts have no king, Yet go they forth all of them by bands;
Pro 30:28 The lizard taketh hold with her hands, Yet is she in kings' palaces.
Pro 30:29 There are three things which are stately in their march, Yea, four which are stately in going:
Pro 30:30 The lion, which is mightiest among beasts, And turneth not away for any;
Pro 30:31 The greyhound; the he-goat also; And the king against whom there is no rising up.
Pro 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, Or if thou hast thought evil, Lay thy hand upon thy mouth.
Pro 30:33 For the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, And the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood; So the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

The Words of King Lemuel
Pro 31:1 The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.
Pro 31:2 What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? And what, O son of my vows?
Pro 31:3 Give not thy strength unto women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Pro 31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; Nor for princes to say, Where is strong drink?
Pro 31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the justice due to any that is afflicted.
Pro 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, And wine unto the bitter in soul:
Pro 31:7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.
Pro 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb, In the cause of all such as are left desolate.
Pro 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, And minister justice to the poor and needy.
The Woman Who Fears the Lord
Pro 31:10 A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.
Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he shall have no lack of gain.
Pro 31:12 She doeth him good and not evil All the days of her life.
Pro 31:13 She seeketh wool and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands.
Pro 31:14 She is like the merchant-ships; She bringeth her bread from afar.
Pro 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, And giveth food to her household, And their task to her maidens.
Pro 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Pro 31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.
Pro 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable; Her lamp goeth not out by night.
Pro 31:19 She layeth her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle.
Pro 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Pro 31:22 She maketh for herself carpets of tapestry; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sitteth among the elders of the land.
Pro 31:24 She maketh linen garments and selleth them, And delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Pro 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing; And she laugheth at the time to come.
Pro 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue.
Pro 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness.
Pro 31:28 Her children rise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her, saying:
Pro 31:29 Many daughters have done worthily, But thou excellest them all.
Pro 31:30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; But a woman that feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.
Pro 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; And let her works praise her in the gates.

English Standard Version
The Beginning of Knowledge
Pro 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
Pro 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight,
Pro 1:3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
Pro 1:4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth—
Pro 1:5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,
Pro 1:6 to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The Enticement of Sinners
Pro 1:8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching,
Pro 1:9 for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.
Pro 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.
Pro 1:11 If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason;
Pro 1:12 like Sheol let us swallow them alive, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
Pro 1:13 we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder;
Pro 1:14 throw in your lot among us; we will all have one purse”—
Pro 1:15 my son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths,
Pro 1:16 for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.
Pro 1:17 For in vain is a net spread in the sight of any bird,
Pro 1:18 but these men lie in wait for their own blood; they set an ambush for their own lives.
Pro 1:19 Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; it takes away the life of its possessors.
The Call of Wisdom
Pro 1:20 Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice;
Pro 1:21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
Pro 1:22 “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?
Pro 1:23 If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.
Pro 1:24 Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded,
Pro 1:25 because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof,
Pro 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you,
Pro 1:27 when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.
Pro 1:28 Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.
Pro 1:29 Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD,
Pro 1:30 would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof,
Pro 1:31 therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices.
Pro 1:32 For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them;
Pro 1:33 but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”

The Value of Wisdom
Pro 2:1 My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
Pro 2:2 making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
Pro 2:3 yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
Pro 2:4 if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,
Pro 2:5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
Pro 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Pro 2:7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
Pro 2:8 guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
Pro 2:9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path;
Pro 2:10 for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
Pro 2:11 discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you,
Pro 2:12 delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,
Pro 2:13 who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,
Pro 2:14 who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,
Pro 2:15 men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.
Pro 2:16 So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words,
Pro 2:17 who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God;
Pro 2:18 for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed;
Pro 2:19 none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life.
Pro 2:20 So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.
Pro 2:21 For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it,
Pro 2:22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.

Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart
Pro 3:1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
Pro 3:2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Pro 3:3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Pro 3:4 So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Pro 3:7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
Pro 3:8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Pro 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
Pro 3:10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.
Pro 3:11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof,
Pro 3:12 for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
Blessed Is the One Who Finds Wisdom
Pro 3:13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
Pro 3:14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
Pro 3:15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Pro 3:16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Pro 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Pro 3:18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.
Pro 3:19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;
Pro 3:20 by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.
Pro 3:21 My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion,
Pro 3:22 and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.
Pro 3:23 Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble.
Pro 3:24 If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Pro 3:25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes,
Pro 3:26 for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
Pro 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
Pro 3:28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.
Pro 3:29 Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.
Pro 3:30 Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.
Pro 3:31 Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways,
Pro 3:32 for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence.
Pro 3:33 The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
Pro 3:34 Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.
Pro 3:35 The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.

A Father's Wise Instruction
Pro 4:1 Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight,
Pro 4:2 for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching.
Pro 4:3 When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother,
Pro 4:4 he taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live.
Pro 4:5 Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
Pro 4:6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.
Pro 4:7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.
Pro 4:8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her.
Pro 4:9 She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”
Pro 4:10 Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.
Pro 4:11 I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.
Pro 4:12 When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble.
Pro 4:13 Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.
Pro 4:14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil.
Pro 4:15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on.
Pro 4:16 For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.
Pro 4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
Pro 4:18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.
Pro 4:19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.
Pro 4:20 My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
Pro 4:21 Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart.
Pro 4:22 For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.
Pro 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
Pro 4:24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
Pro 4:25 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
Pro 4:26 Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.
Pro 4:27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

Warning Against Adultery
Pro 5:1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
Pro 5:2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Pro 5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
Pro 5:4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
Pro 5:5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
Pro 5:6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
Pro 5:7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Pro 5:8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Pro 5:9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
Pro 5:10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
Pro 5:11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Pro 5:12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Pro 5:13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Pro 5:14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Pro 5:15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Pro 5:16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
Pro 5:17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Pro 5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Pro 5:19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Pro 5:20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Pro 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Pro 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
Pro 5:23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Warning Against the Adulteress
Pro 7:1 My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you;
Pro 7:2 keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye;
Pro 7:3 bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Pro 7:4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend,
Pro 7:5 to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.
Pro 7:6 For at the window of my house I have looked out through my lattice,
Pro 7:7 and I have seen among the simple, I have perceived among the youths, a young man lacking sense,
Pro 7:8 passing along the street near her corner, taking the road to her house
Pro 7:9 in the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness.
Pro 7:10 And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart.
Pro 7:11 She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home;
Pro 7:12 now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait.
Pro 7:13 She seizes him and kisses him, and with bold face she says to him,
Pro 7:14 “I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows;
Pro 7:15 so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you.
Pro 7:16 I have spread my couch with coverings, colored linens from Egyptian linen;
Pro 7:17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Pro 7:18 Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love.
Pro 7:19 For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey;
Pro 7:20 he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home.”
Pro 7:21 With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.
Pro 7:22 All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast
Pro 7:23 till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.
Pro 7:24 And now, O sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth.
Pro 7:25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths,
Pro 7:26 for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng.
Pro 7:27 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

The Blessings of Wisdom
Pro 8:1 Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?
Pro 8:2 On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
Pro 8:3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
Pro 8:4 “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.
Pro 8:5 O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.
Pro 8:6 Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right,
Pro 8:7 for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Pro 8:8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
Pro 8:9 They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
Pro 8:10 Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
Pro 8:11 for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
Pro 8:12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.
Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
Pro 8:14 I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength.
Pro 8:15 By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just;
Pro 8:16 by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern justly.
Pro 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
Pro 8:18 Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness.
Pro 8:19 My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.
Pro 8:20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice,
Pro 8:21 granting an inheritance to those who love me, and filling their treasuries.
Pro 8:22 “The LORD possessed me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old.
Pro 8:23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
Pro 8:24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.
Pro 8:25 Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth,
Pro 8:26 before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world.
Pro 8:27 When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
Pro 8:28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep,
Pro 8:29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
Pro 8:30 then I was beside him, like a master workman, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always,
Pro 8:31 rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the children of man.
Pro 8:32 “And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways.
Pro 8:33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it.
Pro 8:34 Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.
Pro 8:35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD,
Pro 8:36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”

The Way of Wisdom
Pro 9:1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars.
Pro 9:2 She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
Pro 9:3 She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town,
Pro 9:4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she says,
Pro 9:5 “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.
Pro 9:6 Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”
Pro 9:7 Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
Pro 9:8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Pro 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Pro 9:11 For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.
Pro 9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it.
The Way of Folly
Pro 9:13 The woman Folly is loud; she is seductive and knows nothing.
Pro 9:14 She sits at the door of her house; she takes a seat on the highest places of the town,
Pro 9:15 calling to those who pass by, who are going straight on their way,
Pro 9:16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” And to him who lacks sense she says,
Pro 9:17 “Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
Pro 9:18 But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
