Because i have noticed an issue with my bp lately I have begun researching. I have gotten lazy in my eating and well I feel lazy in general though it was pointed out to me that on low pain days, I do get a lot done.
That issue aside for the moment... I am researching the DASH plan.It seems to me fairly common sense. I will have to change my tastes some. Low fat sour cream instead of regular and try, again to use sweeteners if I must have a sweet. I can handle liquid stevia in things like iced tea but not coffee and so on. Another thing, to work on my bp issue, I will need to cut back on caffeine. This is hard because coffee in the morning helps reduce my asthma issues. Which are getting more frequent lately. I am thinking I can begin with cheerios, they are low sugar and high oat content. Still keep 1 cup of coffee but water the rest of the time. I may try alternating coffee with hot tea though honestly I am not a hot tea drinker... Has anyone ever tried this eating plan? What did you like? What not? How did it work for you?
One thing I am looking forward to is trying new foods. I love to cook but MJ like ground beef. I am sick of beef. I want fresh chicken and shrimp and veggies. MJ likes veggies too but I seem stuck in a rut of green beans, corn, peas and occasionally a broccoli medley. I want peppers and brussels sprouts and to see what else is out there.

Hi Mel,
Have you roasted your veggies? We roast broccoli, eggplant, cabbage, brussel sprouts, red, green, yellow and orange bell peppers, cauliflower, asparagus, squash, zucchini, etc. We cut the veggies up, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper, and roast at 425 for 20 minutes or longer. My Beloved was not into veggies until we started doing this.
I will look up that DASH plan. I so need help in this area.
