What’s everyone been up to? As I said I’m so pleased to see the busyness here. I love it! There was a big change about 6 months ago. First about 4 and1/2 years ago I moved into a 55 plus community. It was a second floor. The highest floor in our village. In august a first floor became available and it is a cottage. No hallways , no mailbox row, my own bank and front doors and room for flowers in the front and maybe a bit of a container garden out back come spring. I have a little table and two chairs out back and beyond the grass is woods and a river. I am over the moon about my new home and thank God every day for it Any big changes for you all? Hugs and God bless, Helen(grammea)

Helen, your cottage sounds delightful.
There is very little new around here. I guess the only thing has been going down to one homeschooler this year. I think it was tough for him, too. Really, his entire life, someone else was around doing schoolwork. Last semester was rough in terms of getting work done and his grades (these are grades that are assigned by an outside entity, not me.) He seems to be finding his stride once again.

Helen, your cottage sounds delightful!
Let's see, DH and I have changed jobs (him twice, me 3 times) and both of us are in fully remote jobs (neither of us work for universities in our state). We did allow life to get way to busy, so have had an emphasis on slowing down. Granted the next couple of weeks will be busy, but we try.

Sandra, also, your two oldest are working and driving now. For me dh is now retired (wants to get a little job for additional income). With me in and out of the hospital and ER he felt it was time to get out of the 18 wheeler. Also, new is selling two acres of land to a couple from church. Also, me dealing with this MGUS. I go to the oncologist on April 2nd (after having labs drawn on the 29th) to see if it has progressed to Smoldering MM or to MM itself.

Oh Helen I am so happy for you in your little cottage!
Gina, praying it has regressed not progressed!
Nothing new here really. Getting pots ready for my herbs and flowers. Planning to build boxes and fill them for any garden I plan to have.
My nephew is helping me build a path in the front yard between driveways. Small changes nothing major yet.

Congratulations on the cottage, Helen!
Our youngest got married almost 3 years ago and she and her husband are expecting! This will be our first grandbaby and we are so excited. If the baby cooperates, we are supposed to find out the gender this evening.
I no longer work at the Christian school. It wasn't the same after dd2 graduated. I started a small business doing alterations and keep busy with that. I have more health problems now, so I mainly just do housework and some sewing. Dd1 still lives at home with us. She got sick 10 years ago and has good days and bad days. She is now a fully certified dog groomer, but she just does that very occasionally.

I'm glad to be catching up with everyone. I can't remember exactly when I lost track of everyone here...7 years ago I suddenly left my high stress, lots of politics and stupidness government job. I didn't bad mouth anyone, but burned some bridges in doing so, so I won't find anything in that capacity again (which is fine). My mother needed a lot more care and assistance so up until she died in August, that took most of my time. I am still slogging through the aftermath. I just got her will 2 weeks ago, so now I am emptying the house. It's nearly completely debilitating...I can only stand to be there a couple of hours at a time. As a foreigner, I can't own property that isn't my main residence without a lot of hassle, so the goal is to get rid of it asap. It is VERY expensive to maintain a property that is orphaned...
Ds graduated and moved out west 4 years ago. He's only 25, him leaving at 21 was very hard...but he's happy, so I'm happy. He's a missionary.

Guimauve, it's so good to hear from you! I'm glad you're here!
That is a lot that you've dealt with in the last 7 years (and still are now). And that's wonderful news about your son.

It is a long time since I was regularly here and some things have changed.
During the big UK Covid lockdown our eldest son who's now forty moved back in with us ( he was a key worker and his workplace is just round the corner from us, so it made things easier) and he has stayed, as the arrangement works well for all of us. As he arrived our middle son left to live with his girlfriend, I've had my worries over this but I am glad that he is happy. Youngest son had all his courses cancelled ( he is disabled) and is only now starting to get his skills back on track, we have applied for a work experience programme for him, and need to jump through all the government hoops and forms for this to happen, it is teaching me patience!
Peter ( dh) and I have both had health problems, and he is now semi-retired, I have taken on the care of my 94 year old mother, so am still quite busy. I've been on the NHS waiting list for an operation for 2 years, once I've had that I might look for some paid employment as financially things are tight for us, in the meantime I ebay and garden as much as I can.
