Please keep Emile in your prayers. Many of you ladies have known him since he was in 4th grade when we were living in Kuwait. He's 23 now.
A little background. Four years ago he was hospitalized with a DVT in his right leg. He has Factor V Leiden and a vena cava that forks. The clot was right below where the vein splits. Fortunately if the clot had been able to get through either branch it would have been too small to cause problems in the lungs. They cleared it, he took Eliquis for a few months, and has been fine since. I've somehow managed not to kill him when I catch him with no stocking on.
Yesterday he ended up in the ER with a clot in his left leg. Apparently two veins are pressing against each other. (I'll get a better explanation later so I can explain that better.) I doubt the Factor V Leiden is helping any. Once they clear this clot they'll put in a stent.
He went off our insurance this spring and found some online. He contacted the agent and paid his premium but has never received his card. It did this online but has a different phone now. He can't remember the name of the insurance company. He's worried that it was a scam. I told him to call the credit union and find out the name of the company that took out the money and then contact them. That will have to wait until Monday. I'm praying that he's covered but the hospital did let him know that there's financial help available. Sigh.
I saw him yesterday, DH saw him today. I'm hoping to get to see him tomorrow. He's only allowed one visitor a day at one of the two hour windows.
