Making your Christmas items? I am over 1/2 done with my first dish cloth. I still need at least 3 more and 3 aprons. It is slow going since my hands ache so. I am hoping I make it though!

It's time to get started and get serious about making Christmas gifts. I have been so slow--meaning to get things done, but it seems this whole year has just been crazy! I'm planning to get focused this week and hope to get some stuff accomplished.

I need to make hats and scarves for two American girl type dolls. I plan to quilt potholders and knit matching dish cloths and dish towels for some friends here in the village. Right now I’m busy finishing up scrubbies for my daughter as a part of a hostess gift if I am blessed to be able to be with the family on Thanksgiving. Hugs and God bless, Helen(grammea)

I've started, but I'm not making much this year. Hoping to change that next year!
For now, I'm only crocheting two scarves, both for Channukah gifts, and making my mom a needle felted scene that she bought me the kit for, for Christmas.

Jenilee, I have always been fascinated by needle felting ever since I’ve seen it demonstrated at a Christmas gift making craft fair. Is it difficult? Are you enjoying it? Hugs and God bless, Helen(grammea)

Oh Helen! I *love* to needle felt!! It is so fascinating to take a hank of roving and make it into something else! And fun! The things I make aren't hard, you just have to watch your fingers I have seen some beautiful, intricate things though. In late February/early March, the convention center in my city has a quilt show and my needle craft guild participates by having a booth where we showcase members work and have various demonstrations going on. I've taken two classes on needle felting at the show and have learned so much. I'll try to remember to post a picture once I've done the scene. I'm going to start it this weekend.

I haven't started on making Christmas gifts yet. Been busy making baby quilts and booties for ladies at our church who have decided to give birth now. I'll start soon on scrubbies and dishcloths for a few friends and family members.

I'm so glad to be reminded about scrubbies! I have already made dish rags, now just to crochet tops for dish towels (so they can hang from the fridge or oven), put them with a homemade scrubbie, and I'll have a nice homemade gift set to give as a Christmas gift. I could even add a recipe and a dollar store wooden spoon to the gift set.
