I dropped the ball on this thread last year. This year I want to be an active participant. As we enter 2021 MJ and I have some new challenges. Tightened budget, my health challenges and so on. My goals for this year are more Bible, less wasted time. Building savings and gaining stamina and strength.
I am feeling led to make Colossians my book for the year. Reading a chapter of it every day, like I did Philippians for most of last year.
What goals do you have?

Hmm. I haven't thought a lot about it, because anytime I make New Year's resolutions, they don't stick. So I'll just say that overall, I'd like to work on my health (spiritual and physical), finances, and becoming a better person in 2021.

Well, after some more thought, specifically I want to spend more time in prayer, at least half an hour a day. It takes discipline to do this, especially at my house with the family being home, health issues, dogs barking, phones ringing, etc. It's so easy to get sidetracked with other things. This will require intentional focus and determination on my part, so that's my goal for this year.

It is a cloudy chilly day here today. My lungs have begun to ache. I am not even outside breathing in the cold air. It reminded me to order more peppermint oil and I need to start my office diffuser so I can come in here and get some small relief. It is too soon to use the inhaler and I will use my peppermint oil before that is needed anyway. Peppermint oil usually works and it is MUCH cheaper than my inhaler.

My resolution is to be on here more. You ladies were a Godsend when we lived overseas. I stared a new full-time job is September and I need to get back to my old friends instead of reading so much nonsense on FB. Spend more time with my knitting groups on MeWe. But mainly here. 😁

Well Sunday we got a good heavy snow. There are even some spots out there still snowy. My sister in TN is jealous. All they got were some flurries that didn't stick. We got huge flakes coming down thick and fast. My Texas grandbabies got to play in the snow. This is amazing to me!

My husband was flying to Arizona to pick up a van he got at auction. Thr flight was canceled due to snow in Dallas. He and our daughter had to go to St. Louis to get a flight through Phoenix. Now they've hobbled to a friend's house in Phoenix because iys transmission is having problems so they're flying back today. He'll figure out a way to get it here from his friend's.
I'm enjoying coffee and devotions. And freezing. The blower is out in our furnace. Elie never has time to look at it with everything else going on. I'm working full-time at Bass Pro Base Camp so I'm no longer available to cover for him at the restaurant. The woodstove is good but I'm not going to start it and leave.
I'll finish up, eat breakfast, then hope the frost is melting on my windshield because I'm pretty sure Marwan has the only scraper in his car. LOL

I need to get into the Bible more this year. Today's been a busy day. One of our goat does gave birth to a stillborn kid Sunday night. As of this morning she still hadn't passed the placenta and the opening was very swollen with something protruding so I loaded her into my car and took her to the vet. Had to leave her since they were booked up. He fit her in between patients. Did an ultrasound and no other kid but there is placenta still in there so gave her shots to expell it, an antibiotic, & for pain. Picked her up then had to go pick up produce while dh fed all the animals. Dinner is Arby's fish sandwiches.

They're big and figuring how to get out of their place in the barn. LOL

That's a lot of puppies to have at once. I feel sorry for that mama. We had a Heeler/Catahoula mix about 17 yrs ago who had 14 puppies at one time. They all survived.
Today I had a few errands in town so I waited til this afternoon to take my Lasix. When I woke up this morning I had gained 2 lbs of fluid and by the time I took the Lasix I had gained another lb. Now it's working very well so I'll lose most of it. Dinner will be beef stew.

Two weeks ago one of our dogs gave birth to only two puppies. She's a mixed breed of who knows what. She's medium build, black, with medium long fur. She got with one of our Great Pyrenees. She's going to get fixed once these are weaned. The first one, a male, had trouble coming out but then the girl slid out with no problem. Last Sunday, at exactly 2 weeks old, I weighed the girl and she was 2.8 lbs! They are black with white feet.
We are getting back to normal after the winter storm. Today it's rainy but kinda warm (60's). Past few days it was in the high 70's-low 80's. Just one week ago it was 20 as a high.

Good afternoon ladies! It's a warm sunny day here. We are out of church, had lunch, and now dh is making sure the animals have water and is letting the mama dog out to do her business. Then we are heading to Galveston for the evening to hear his (our's really) dgs preach his first sermon. The cardiologist told me last Thursday to reduce my sodium intake. Also restrict my fluid intake to 2 quarts a day. So now I have to watch my sugar & carbs, sodium, and fluids. Can I just live on air? Lol

Hello Ella! Good to see you here. I want to try to revitalize this site. Let's all try to start a new thread every few days. Yesterday morning I woke up with big plans to get my sewing room/library somewhat organized but I just had no energy. I napped off and on all day despite waking up after 10am. Today I hope to make some headway on that room.
Covid restrictions in RI is keeping me from going up to see Helen and Ella so I'll use that two weeks to work in the garden.

Things are moving along quickly here. Last weekend was dd2's bridal shower. This weekend we're helping them pack and move stuff into their apartment to get it set up and ready to live in after the wedding.
Dd1 continues to get worse every day. We're at the point where she does not want to be in a wheelchair, but the constant falling and now spells of blindness keep limiting her more and more. My swelling is at an all-time high. I will have less to do once the wedding is over, so that should help.
I'm missing friends and church and just having a life in general. But, God is good and I'm happy for the kids and thankful for things falling into place for them.
