Instead of doing a monthly I thought I would try this. My goals this year are to cut the junk. I still have a lot of stuff. Stuff I do not use, like the 12 sets of "picnic" dishes I bought, each with a set of 4 plates, baskets, condiment containers and so on. This year I either open them up and USE them or out they go. A set of dishes, not complete, I bought and don't really like. They are pretty but not my ideal. I have a tote where I am beginning to stash these kinds of things, Barbies I have coming out my ears, but no one plays with. NOT my vintage ones just random ones I have grabbed at yard sales. I plan THIS WEEK to go through that huge bin of Barbies and move out quite a lot of it. I will keep 10 girls and 10 boys, if I have any decent Ken's in there, plus 2 outfits each, with shoes and purse and maybe jewelry. I also plan to go through my clothes and weed out things I do not wear. I will keep a few things for fancy and stuff I love but things like the Bethel polos and some skirts, OUT!
Do you have stuff stashed you may not think about but you know it should leave? Want to join me?

Good for you!
I need to declutter and reorganize in the kitchen. There are so many different plastic containers and lids that need matched or tossed.

The young man organizing our bathroom remodel came by on... Thursday and Isent him home with a grocery sack of Barbies/clothes and a shoebox sized tote of wooden magnetic dolls for his little girls. I tossed all the grocery bags too. Some I kept back but most the cats had shredded so out htey went. I can see the front room floor now!

Great topic for a thread! I am in the midst of doing just exactly that now! Unfortunately I am dealing with a bad earache that comes and goes so I am spending a lot of time laying on a heating pad. Is there a “buy nothing” group you could join to bless others with your decluttering? I belong to one and I’ve passed some things on and really need to get back to it. 12 sets of picnic dishes??? When was the last time you went on a picnic? So you are keeping ten Barbies and Ken’s? Plus your vintage? I know this may be like ripping off a band aid but how about 5? I’m going through my clothes too and mostly what I’m getting rid of is just worn out or stained. I bought myself a few nice things with my Christmas ! present from Regina and my brother ! I’ve tossed a bunch of coffee mugs too. I only have one mouth , lol! IIm definitely in for the challenge! I’ll be back to update my progress! Hugs and God bless, Helen

Helen, the Barbies are the ones I let the girls play with. None of my office Barbies are included. Which reminds me I have a couple blog posts in the works I need to get pictures taken.

I went through my closet and pulled out things I just don't enjoy and they joined the drop off pile. I sent the same young man above, who came by for us to sign the estimate, home iwth 2 large bears i bought on clearance and never got around to using.

I've loaded 3 boxes full of clothes I just don't wear. Dh needs to get rid a lot of his clothes and I will go through kitchen stuff.

I went through my holiday / seasonal decor. I'd like to get rid of more but DH wants me to wait until at least next year to be sure. We don't have much but it's still more than I care about anymore. I have to go through my clothes too.

Been seriously decluttering since last March (as there's little else to do!). We go room by room and just made the second 'office' go-round. Lots of paper was gotten rid of and a lot donated and organized. I'm working on the kitchen, and it's too cold to even think about the garage yet.
