I just ordered our first box and it should arrive Saturday. I thought someone here had used Misfits before but I couldn't find the post. Will let you know how it is once it comes in!

Yes, I did. We (the whole family) LOVED the vegetables. The delivery issues finally just made it not worth it. *I* think that the problem was the local carrier. Locally, we have had repeated problems with this carrier. More than once I met the delivery person and refused a late box because I saw no point in bringing a box of rotted vegetables in to my house that I would have to carry back out. Aside from that, we had boxed THROWN (that I saw) and most weeks, the boxes themselves arrived damaged. So... I was mostly inclined to blame the carrier. However, I read online that some people who receive a lot of food orders like this were stating that the company doesn't use strong enough boxes. They said they get food shipments from other companies that come in far sturdier boxes. I'm sure that Misfits Market is/was fully aware of the issue, because when I canceled my subscription, "delivery damage" or something like that was a checkbox to mark the reason. <shrug> I don't know what to tell you beyond we REALLY REALLY miss it. If I knew our stuff would be delivered nicely, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Incidentally, I tried a local option - I got half the vegetables for twice the price... and not aware near the wonderful variety we got from Misfits Market.

Sandra, thank you! My biggest concern right now is that the box may arrive late. Every time we are to get any package through the mail, tracking info will say "delivered" but it means it was delivered to our post office and will arrive at our house the next day. My Misfits box is supposed to come tomorrow (Saturday) and I'm really hoping it doesn't get hung up at the post office over the weekend and arrive here spoiled. I guess we'll see. If that happens, I can change the delivery date for the next shipment.

When I was getting MM, they were only using FedEx or UPS. I wished they would have switched to UPS, but the contract they had for our state was FedEx. I hope it works out for you!

I checked the tracking number this morning and they are sending it through FedEx. Tracking now says it should be delivered tomorrow by the end of the day, NOT today! UGH!!! So my box will already be a day late for sure, IF they even deliver on Sunday.

So, here's the update on my Misfits box: It arrived a day late, which I half expected as FedEx doesn't have the greatest reputation around here. BUT--the gel pack was still at least half frozen and the box was pleasantly cool inside. Oh my goodness! The produce is WONDERFUL!!! I got the most beautiful heads of crisp leafy lettuce, endive, and parsley. The Romaine is big and looks pretty good, but needs used within the next couple of days (not a problem.) The collard greens look great as do the potatoes, lemons, and yellow bell peppers. One green pepper was completely split open, and some celery was broken. It was still very fresh and will be used up in salad with the romaine tonight. I got a huge bag of gorgeous celery (separate from the bunch of slightly wilted, broken celery.) The mango had a large blemish on the outside but is perfectly ripe and not spoiled. The butternut squash are small and have slight discoloration, probably just garden dirt spots, again, nothing rotten. I did not get the orange bell peppers, but it looks like they substituted some huge extra yellow peppers instead. Not a problem for me at all.
The roma tomatoes are ok. They will need used up soon but again, that's fine.
Overall I'm very pleased and plan to order from Misfits Market again.

So, today we got our second shipment of Misfits. Here's what happened:
The original delivery date I set up was for Fridays. They changed that to Monday, and I FINALLY got the box today (Wednesday.) The box arrived VERY damaged, half of it is wet with liquid seeping out of the box. The inside of the box looks like someone played catch with it violently. Everything in the box is wet as the frozen gel pack got damaged and leaked completely out. My gluten free cookies box inside was completely wet, damaged, and crushed. My gluten free flour package is wet. Instead of zucchini, I got Swiss Chard and instead of bell peppers, they substituted some un-ripe turnips. The rest of the produce is beautiful, except for a completely smashed orange.
Looks like Fed Ex is the PITS at their job. I truly believe this is their fault, and not the fault of Misfits Market.

I'm so sorry, but I have to admit that reflects what my experience was. FedEx was AWFUL. I could tell you story after story.
In my experience, Misfits Market will give you a credit (every single time). While that's fine, it just wasn't worth my time (because there is the calling, the emails, waiting to hear back) and I just decided I was done.
Misfits Market is clearly still earning a profit after LOTS of problems with FedEx. I would re-subscribe in a heartbeat, but only if they switch to UPS.

I am sorry to hear of your problems. I got my first shipment last week and everything was perfect. I even got a heart shaped potato, LOL. I generally agree concerning FedEx, but have found them pretty reliable here in my town, so we will see.

I think it's really sad that Misfits has such great produce, but the shipping company ruins it for customers. Technically, FedEx should be the one refunding the money, not misfits. My box seriously looked like someone had played a game of football with it. Just one toss or drop couldn't have possibly done so much damage!
Since I really, really like the produce, I'm going to change to the smaller box and see if it makes a difference. Also, this box did not have the Misfits logo printed on it, and the last box did, so maybe they were more careful when they knew what was in the box? I don't know
I wish I knew if it safe to wash off the "non-toxic" gel that leaked and salvage what is not damaged.

So, Misfits Market did give me a full refund for my last order, which I sure appreciated! They also told me the gel pack consisted of a water and sugar based gel that can be washed off. This time I ordered the smaller, "Mischief" box and it came in excellent condition. This box did have the company logo on it and it was very well insulated, although without the gel pack. As usual, it arrived later than expected, but all the produce was in good condition with nothing damaged or rotten.
I think for now I'll stick to this smaller box.

Misfits has changed the way you order. Instead of choosing from two different sized boxes, you just order what you want and however many you want in quantity, and they ship it to you. I still love my produce. Not quite as thrilled with the shipping, but so far it is still worth it for me to stay subscribed. Today I got a nice big box and am enjoying the bell peppers and zucchini. Yum!

Looks like we have a new delivery person and my produce is arriving in better condition. Anything boxed like baking mix, or in a bag, like chips, always arrives crushed, but the veggies are fresh and delicious. I can taste a huge difference in the lettuce. Store bought lettuce is tasteless or has a weird bitter taste from something sprayed on it. The organic lettuce from Misfits is much more tasteful and has better color. That makes eating salads easier!

Arethey still using FedEx (with just a new driver) or a new carrier?
We continue to have issues with FedEx. I ordered something from a completely different place... not knowing they use FedEx. My packaged has been stting in Georgia, according to FedEx's tracking. No reason, just "delay" to shipping with no estimated arrival date.
I really wish I had the option to choose my own shipper. I'd love to get back to Misfits.
