Today has been a rest day for me. I went to the dr for my hospital follow-up only to find out my appt is tomorrow. My knee is really hurting which is why I've been resting. Tomorrow I'll call my orthopedist to see when he'll start doing surgeries again so I can be put back on the schedule.

Good luck with your appointments, Gina!
Today was...I'm not sure. I mean, it was a good day, but I've been spending too much time reading lately and not enough time working on my house. I did get some things done today though.
Had a rough night. I've been awake since 3 and up since 4. Bed early tonight, that's for sure.
Pray everyone here is well!

Well, they re-scheduled my surgery for the April 30th only to have to re-schedule it again, this time for May 14th. On April 28th I had to have a Covid test as part of the pre-op workup. My nasal swab was negative but the antibodies test showed I had been exposed or had the virus at least 2 weeks prior, so not within the last 2 weeks but before that. My surgeon was willing to it but the anesthesiologist wanted to wait longer to make sure I wasn't a carrier. I found this out the morning I was leaving for the hospital!

It’s been a long week. Started out with my GFs mom, who was like a 2nd mom to me, died in NY from Covid. They can only have the wake for one hour and only for 20 people. Then they’ll bring her body back to the morgue and because they can’t dig the graves fast enough in NYC, she won’t be buried until 5/27. Seems like a bad dream. Anyway...My hubby started having symptoms and our GP ordered testing. ILong story short, it turned out the dr. discovered he had a sinus infection and he’s now on the mend! So that was at least good. Tomorrow starts another week. Hoping to make it a good one. 😊👍🏼

Hello, I’m new here! I’m so excited and hope to make friends with you all. I’m exploring a simpler lifestyle. I know quite a bit about tech, (so if you need help, I may be able to !) but I often feel so overwhelmed in today’s world, and like it’s so easy to lose the romance of the small things.
I’m not really sure what else to say! I have a lot of crafty hobbies, too, though I’m not the best at them. I really want to improve my sewing.

Alwaysdaydreaming, welcome. We have lots of folks who life simpler lives here. It is good to note that simple means different things to different people. Sometimes dimple is mistaken for more deliberate living. Which is not easy. Please tell us about yourself.

Sometimes dimple is mistaken for more deliberate living. Which is not easy. Please tell us about yourself. Part of it is more mindful living. But it would be nice to just have less internet, news, politics, less drama. Just be able to focus on what’s in front of me. I miss the country, being able to plant things and have quiet. I want to be able to lay in bed on a morning like today — listening to the rain and just looking around the still room cast with sun diffused by the grey clouds — without feeling like life is going to leave me in the dust for indulging.

Alwaysdaydreaming, simple living to me is not always easy. It is uncomplicated, living more off the land, but sometimes hard work. I use a clothesline which takes more time & effort than throwing the laundry into the dryer. I know you'll enjoy PH and the sweet ladies here.

It looks like I finally found you ladies! Yeah!!! How is everyone? I know I'm not here as much as I'd like to be but I'm going to try to do better. I say that a lot. I hope everyone is well. I've been buying yarn for Christmas gifts as well as a couple of projects for me. I'm going to ready this time if we get stuck with another shut down this fall. I have one gift completed for my younger niece, yarn purchases for her sister and my daughter. Same cowl, different colorways. I have yarn for a hat for my older boy. I'm still needing to decide on other gifts but I'll get the yarn as soon as I do so I'm ready. The restaurant gets busy then dead, then busy then dead. It's exhausting. But we're hanging in there. Everyone take care and have a good weekend.

Great to see you Beth! Missed you! Not much happening in my small part of the world. Dh working a lot and I'm staying inside all day because of the heat. Garden is about done. I'll give it a few more days then open it up to the horses and goats.

Ended up having the day off. Got 4 loads of laundry done. Woot! We're all worn out and hubby is in one of his moods. He thinks I don't consider the silent treatment as a treat. 😏
I'm snuggled up with Lucy, the Pit Bull puppy. Not yet 8 months old and already I've 50 pounds. Love this girl. She keeps the Shepherds on their toes.
Well, back to knitting while I watch Colombo. 😁

Gina, your garden is almost done and mine hasn't done anything but 1 pepper and 3 tomatoes, 2 of which birds got. I am watching the cantaloupe. I have many more tomatoes and several pumpkin flowers. I am hoping for at least 3 pumpkins and this one cantaloupe!
I did not eat the first tomato, hoping others would join it and... pffft.

It's been a cool summer here until the other day and now the heat in the house is going up up up. I've not been using AC because it's so noisy and as soon as it's off it gets unbearable, so we're trying to just acclimatize. It's working, but I'm cutting back on activity because that's when I get hot and the hot flashes / palpitations really kick in. As a result I'm getting a lot of cross stitching time so there's a silver lining LOL!
