Good Morning Ladies. Poobah, a new grandbaby and no pictures??? That can't be allowed. Pictures please so we can love our new niece/nephew too! Merrilee, did they tell you anything yet? Definitely of a mind to keep you in prayer.
Ok my day has plans. 1) not to leave the house. 2) Follow my MOMO list and change it where needed (I do not have attic, basement, children's rooms and so on) 3) Do 15s in the midst on the front room and my office too. I am hoping to get 3 sessions each, that should make a huge dent.
The issue is, my son and probably his niece (she is staying with them until next week) are coming over. He to do pc stuff, she for the pool. My other son might be coming over too with my Boogie Boy for just hanging out, possibly pool as well.
None of them will be up before 1 pm so over maybe about 2.
Dinner is the Kielbasa I did not make yesterday. MJ wanted pimento cheese and crackers instead. I had popcorn.

I should never Google anything. It was not a blood clot, but won't be able to talk to my doctor til Monday; but as far as I can tell there are only two things that cause severe edema: heart disease and kidney failure. My heart is sound as a dollar, and being diabetic, and having had crippling arthritis which has had me on painkillers for years, I fear all those NSAIDS may have damaged my kidneys. My biggest fear is ending up on dialysis which I will NOT do. I am trying hard not to panic, but honestly, the painkillers are the only thing that keeps me from being bedridden. My only plan for today is exercise and quiet time; otherwise I am taking it easy.

Merrilee stay away from google. Now what pain killers do you take? Have you talked to your dr about a prescription that will help with pain? I used to think gabapentin was useless. turns out they were just giving me too low of a dose. If you take advil, how much per day? 2400? Less? More? These may themselves cause edema, without heart or kidney involvement. Do you take meds until the pain is gone or just to the point of being able to function? There are I am sure more than 2 causes of edema. I get it now and then too and both my heart and kidneys are fine. Usually I can track mine to an increase in salt in my diet. Once I find the culprit, I limit or eliminate it and things get back to normal. The point is, don't panic. You are covered in prayer and a daughter of the King. He will guide you through whatever the issue is. As humans our wont is to worry. However He commands us, yes orders us not to worry. Hugs honey. Get a glass of tea and delve into the life of David, or Jesus. Either will give your mind and heart something to reflect on.
On my front, I found my front room table. I have all the tablecloths washing and I am taking a break with my pills (which I normally take about 6) some tea and some almonds.
Next up will be kitchen or finish trashing the front room. Not sure yet.

I had planned to sew today but I went to a produce stand yesterday and got some good deals on beans and tomatoes. So today will be spent canning tomatoes and green beans. I kind of dread doing all that work, and maybe it would be easier just to buy at the store, but dd2 wants to learn how to can produce, so it will be a good time to teach her.
I did manage to sew 4 jar openers and they turned out really cute. A load of laundry is finished, folded and put away, and another load is washing now. It will be a busy day here!

I have been forgetting to get on here. Last night I remembered and posted to yesterday's thread but see it didn't show up. Merrileem, try not to worry. If we worry it means we don't trust God. We can be concerned as to what the diagnosis is but then just leave it in God's hands. It rained quite a bit yesterday morning so it's not safe for me to be outside with the walker and I don't want to muddy up the wheelchair. Plus, it's too hot & humid out. Thursday I had my follow-up appt with the surgeon's PA. The incision (I measured it...8" long) is healing well but my range of motion isn't quite what it should be at this point. Doubling up on the stretching exercises until I start PT next week. Watching tv, reading and sewing.

Mel, I take an 800 mg Ibuprofin in order to sleep at night along with 500 mg of tramadol. Back in California I was able to get Oxy, but here in Kansas you can't get that without seeing a pain specialist, and even then they are reluctant. This whole opioid crisis has made it extremely hard for those who have ongoing, crippling pain. But then, my pain level has also increased as my arthritis has gotten worse, big time. I talked to a friend yesterday who actually has kidney disease, and she says it is controllable with diet and the right medication, so I am feeling a lot better now. I tried going one night without the Ibuprofin, and in the morning my whole body was so racked with pain that I couldn't move out of bed.

Hugs honey. Check out the Davita site for menus and recipes to help if you do develop kidney disease. MJ waited and didn't listen to the drs now... Well it is not an easy road.
