Do you all do any composting? I saw a hack online and thought to try it. You take a container with a lid and keep it on the counter. Toss in things like egg shells, tea bags or coffee grounds, carrot peelings, etc. At the end of the week, add this to your flower beds as fertilizer.
I thought maybe this would work if I added it to some dirt and then to my house plants.
Any tips from those of you who know how to do this?

I do compost. We have just gotten back to it at this house (still very passive), but we were "hard core" LOL in Texas.
I keep a container under my sink and it gets emptied into our bin. What you're doing works, too.
I would wait until the additions have broken down before adding them to your house plants.
You could also make compost tea. Sometimes I take an old milk or water jug, fill it with scraps (banana peels, most anything fruit or vegetable, but not citrus) and keep it covered with water. The plants love it. (But it's kinda gross, and I'm not a fan of having it in the kitchen!)
