Ladies, I will be glad when this weather settles a bit. It has been raining nearly constantly since Sunday. Last night, we left to go to taekwondo at 6:30. I should have realized something was up when I had trouble backing out of the driveway. I just couldn't SEE. I realized I was driving off to the drive - twelve more inches and we'd've been in the swale! I managed to get down the driveway and out to the main road that leads to the interstate. It was SO DARK. I realized how extreme it was when DS1 was talking to me and I replied, "I can't talk now." I had to concentrate so hard - I was driving based on the white line on the side of the road (which has no shoulder). I finally asked the older two boys who can drive - Is it me, or is it CRAZY dark? They both said YES, it was crazy dark. Then I heard DS2 say in a small voice (trying to let me off the hook), "We don't have to go." I pulled into a parking lot to check the weather again. It said the rain was going to stop in twenty minutes... but by the time we'd be driving home, it would be thundering and lightning again. Home we came, and weren't in the door five minutes before the weather radio went off. We aren't supposed to see sun until Friday, and boy will I be happy.
Today I've been teaching some classes. I have a few spread over the afternoon. The older boys and I will do literature during their lunch time. DS1 is at work. The other boys and I will take an Uber to church. DS1 will come by when he finishes work. He'll come to the prayer service if he gets off in time; otherwise, he'll just give us a ride home.
It will be a long day, but a good one, I think. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and I'll get these boys to tkd tomorrow night.
