Good morning ladies, I’ve been feeling very nostalgic lately. So I’ve been thinking about “the PH that used to be” Any body left from years ago? What do you remember about your earliest days in PH? Share with us , we’d love to read your memories. I remember virtual food fights <hehe> Virtual Christmas and 4th of July parties And the different threads we had then Some of the members I remember from the good old days days Arrow Sparrow -I believe she lived in Alaska Smarshmellow- she had a different name earlier but I believe it was either depressing or brought up bad memories so she chose the name of my granddaughters cat at the time Gina Kay/ who I am eternally grateful to PH for bringing this wonderful woman into my life. She’s the best friend a gal could have! Mel , I can’t remember her name here on PH but she was the woman you used to call Ma. She had an incredible sense of frugality and support. Sadly she passed away So share your memories ladies and maybe we can bring back the “good old days” Hugs and God bless, Helen(grammea)

Helen, Ma was Gerrie. I miss her often. She was so supportive. I miss MartyMo. Not sure what happened to her, they were moving into an RV last she posted. Laura... can't remember her name on here. Cat in hat I think. Great frugal advice and abilities.
Anna Victoria. She was only here a little while but she was cute and sweet.
BZV she was unusual and fun.
SueEllen. I am still close with her but she is too busy to visit much.
Farmer J. I touch base with her on FB chat now and then. Since she and her hubby started their bike business, she is another too busy to visit.
Gina Kay, we are still close though we don't chat much.
I remember when we had truly in depth Bible studies. Some felt they were arguments but I miss seeing everyone show why they think/believed a certain thing.
I remember in the early days losing a member because she didn't see why the Bible needed to be the basis for ones beliefs and claimed no one could do that. I still believe in the Bible being the foundation of my life, even though I don't always walk the straight line, I still strive to.

Of those who aren't on PH anymore I remember Jessica (can't remember her username...her dh is military), a lady use lived in Alaska, Farmer J, Cat n Hat/Laura (met her in person in CO few years ago), Majencia, Sue Ellen, and a few others. Some are FB friends. I talk to Mel occasionally (ought to call more often), message Sandra/eyeofthestorm often, and Helen is my sidekick & best friend. We talk or message constantly and I'm going to go see her the end of Nov.

Helen, I remember many of those ladies, too. I see them once in a while. It's hard now to remember all the handles.
What really wild for me is knowing that I found PH sixteen (!) years ago. We had moved to CA, I had a DH who was gone working at least 12 hours each day, a newborn, a two year old, and had just moved to a state with a MUCH higher cost of living. Every chance I had, I was online looking for ways to pinch a penny. I found Hillbilly Housewife (now THAT'S an old site I miss) and that led to me to PH. During that time, we've lived in three states, five apartments and three houses... but I have ALWAYS been able to check in here!

Sandra, I have lost track of how old PH is. I know my oldest was still in high school when Miss Maggie asked me to take over the HBHW boards. He just turned 36. She is another one I miss. I have not heard from her in ages and her phone number changed. I have written and emailed but no reply. I pray for her, and I hope she is ok.

I have been wondering about Miss Maggie too. She hasn't posted anything on Frugal Abundance for quite some time. I also found PH through Hillbilly Housewife. I really miss the old site, and Miss Maggie's blogs.

I first joined back in 2008, when I married my first husband. I left for a few years in late 2009 after my first marriage fell apart. I remember Maggie's sincere kindness when that all happened. It meant so much to me, knowing that somebody cared who hadn't even met me.
When I returned a few years later (2011 I think?) PH was getting a little slower but still the amazing, safe and warm place that I remembered.
I'm terrible with names, but part of what I remember best about the early years (and something that still remains) was how many strong, inspiring ladies there were. True Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 women! Ladies with homesteads, homeschooling their children, cooking up delicious recipes and most important, turning to the Lord and His word for his wisdom and solace.
PH blessed me in so many ways- too many to count.
I often wonder what happened to many of the wonderful ladies that used to be here! It is good to be reminded of some of their "names" ♡

There are so many I remember-Mamame, Sarahmomof5 (I think that changed to Sarahmomof7,) Mentalutopia, Jess, and many others.
I started here while raising my girls and keeping chickens and homeschooling. Now the chickens are gone, my girls are grown adults and the youngest is married. I still try to post regularly and miss all the activity we used to have here.

Rachel, I too miss the activity. I do talk to Mamame, Ann, now and then she and Bob are now semi retired. Both older daughters are married, Rob had a car wreck and is still finding his way back and JoAnna is now at the fashion institute in NYC. A very prestigious school for fashion design and I probably butchered it's name.
I too miss Sarah. Last I heard she was working to become a nurse practitioner (1 step away from an MD)

I definitely remember Miss Maggie. In fact, I think like many of you, I found PH through her. I loved her site so much. I remember a lot of the people that have already been said. I also remember a lady, I think her name was something like guimauve? I found her to be a very interesting lady!

Guivmauve is doing well. She’s part of a Facebook group I’m on. She’s staying busy working.
