I thought that I would start a thread for the books that I read in the book club that I am a part of. It is a ladies book club at the church that I used to attend so all of the books are Christian Fiction. Also, since COVID, all of the books are available on Hoopla.
This month's book was The Patmos Deception by Davis Bunn. I liked it. It has all of the adventure and mystery and intrigue of a non-Christian thriller, and it deals with the history of the small Greek Islands, including Patmos, and some of the stories surrounding the Apostle John. My only critique was that it didn't tie things up enough to not have a sequel, but I'm still glad that I read it.

Hoopla is an app where you put in your library card and then borrow books to read on your phone or tablet. They have an amazing selection of Christian fiction.
This year we have read: Two Steps Forward by Sharon Garlough Brown (part of a series) Love and the Little White Lie by Tammy Gray The Escape by Lisa Harris Fireflies in December by Jennifer Erin Velant Barefoot by Sharon Garlough Brown (book 3 of a series) The Secret of Paper and Ink by Lyndsay Harrel Chasing Shadows by Lynne Austin

Tonight is book club. We read, "Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton," by Susannah B. Lewis. Basically, it is about a woman who is newly divorced when her mom dies and her and her daughter move back in to her childhood home which her mom left her. It is funny, it is sad, and I rated it a 9.5

This month's book club book was The Girl Behind the Red Rope by Ted Dekker and Rachelle Decker. It was an interesting book and is written as an allegory kind of like Pilgrim's Progress. I really enjoyed it, but I will be interested to hear tonight what the other ladies thought of it.
