Dd1 had a cheap vinyl under-the-bed storage tote that ripped open. She picked out the zipper and kept it for future use. Dh had an old pair of paints that were no longer wearable. I kept the buttons and cut up the pants to use as patches for his other pants.
My mom found dh some shirts at a thrift store. These shirts are normally $20-30 each and she got them for $3 and sent them to me. I realized the only thing wrong was that each shirt was missing a button! So, I looked through my button tin and found some that matched and sewed them on. Now dh has 3 shirts for less than half the cost of a new shirt.

Great ideas Rebekah! Any clothes we can’t wear anymore, or don’t like, I cut off buttons and zippers and use the fabric for quilts (or other projects). I’ve seen a For Lease sign outside our one and only thrift store 😞.
