I'm not an expert but I do suffer from the disease and I just wanted to post what I do to manage it as I have reactions to most RX medication and I build a tolerance to rescue inhalers when I use them often
1. Quercetin with Bromelian
(I get mine from Swanson vitamins or Amazon, I take 1 capsule a day) I read this in "Be Your Own Doctor by Rachel Weaver" and it literally changed my life! With one capsule a day I went from constant symptoms to almost normal! Not kidding or exaggerating.
2. Resveratrol
(This I get from Amazon. I take 1 capsule a day.) This helps a LOT with seasonal allergies and is also good for heart and immune health and is an anti-inflammatory. I take this in addition to Zyrtec but this makes a WORLD of difference.
3. Know your triggers
A common trigger for asthma and a severe one for me is dairy as it thickens and increases the production of mucus in the respiratory system. I'm experimenting with lactose-free and goat milk for myself but it may differ for someone else. Any allergy or food sensitivity can be a trigger so it's good to be vigilant.
4. Saline Nebulizer Ampules
(You can get these from Amazon or as an RX from your doctor or pulmonologist.) These are just little pods of saline you use in a nebulizer, it helps to thin the mucus in the respiratory system and calms things down some. And it's not medication so you can use it when you need to. My husband has issues as well and this helps him like it does me, but he has an extreme sensitivity to salt due to a thyroid condition even though it's 0.9% salt so keep that in mind if you are that sensitive otherwise they are pretty safe but always try things with caution.
I'll edit and add to this as I discover things but I wanted to post and make sure people can find this information as I'd not be a functioning human without it. Thank God.
God bless.
