I heard a sermon recently that really touched me. It was about unity and how we need to love and encourage one another despite our differences. One thing the pastor said was, "We can have unity without having uniformity." Don't know if I got it word for word, but it was something like that. It hit home with me because so often I'll think my way is the correct way or my opinion is "right" or I'll feel left out because I'm different. It's ok that we're all different. We don't have to be clones to love each other and have unity in the body of Christ. It was a very encouraging sermon.

So true Rebekah. Our pastors have stressed that our church is growing and people different from us may come and our job is to accept them and love them no matter how they dress or what their lifestyle is like. I married into a black family and fortunately all my in-laws are Christian and have accepted me and love me as I am.

One thing that I try to remember is this, "In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things love."
