A few years ago we had a horse with a gaping hole (size of my fist) in his neck. I put honey (with comb) in the wound and with a month the hole had filled in and skin grew back. Three weeks ago one of our dogs had to have a leg amputated. A week later she opened an infected pocket and it created a large hole (on inner part of stump so I didn’t see it for two days). Part of the vet treatment was honey/antibiotic powder. The hole has closed up with granulated tissue and the skin is growing back. I always keep local honey on hand. It has a lot of antibiotic and healing properties.

I love local honey, I use it daily in my morning tea, but if I'm not feeling the best, I'll have a bit just on a spoon.
