to me in my proverb reading today. 27:15
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. Are we gloomy and thundering or soft and sweet like a spring day?

I am trying to be soft and sweet, but I admit those thunderclouds keep cropping up!

I try to be less doom & gloom...but more times than not, life happens and it just turns out that way...

For some reason this verse stuck out to me in today's morning reading.
Pro 14:15 The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.
It just seemed like it fits this period of time.

In my morning reading 2 verses stuck out to me today in how they relate to today,
Pro 18:2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. For some reason this struck me with the thought of those who go off to "find" themselves.
Pro 18:22 Whoso finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour of the LORD.
I wonder if today this is still true. I wonder if there is not a word or phrase missing maybe. Just any wife is not a good thing. Look at Samson, Hosea, Jezebel was definitely a good thing for Ahab. Proverbs says this once, but the equating of a nagging wife to constant rain or dripping is mentioned many times.

Pro 21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
I see this in the verses of not just Proverbs but the entire Bible. All that is written in there, is a good plan to live by. The things to avoid then, are still good things to avoid now.

My morning reading today was Acts 4. This verse stuck out as one that is as needed today as it was then. They also faced "cancel culture" as we do today.
Act 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

Have you ever noticed how Acts 21 stops abruptly, mid sentence?

Seems like this is an example of where they didn't place the chapter and verse at an appropriate place. Or, maybe it is good because then 22 is his sermon.

This morning I read Stephen's historical recounting of the history of the Jews. It dawned on me, God doesn't place an age limit on great accomplishments. Abraham was 100 when he became a father. Jacob was old when he moved his family into Egypt. Moses was 80 when his career began. God is not an ageist!

Reading today's chapter in acts it came to me that Paul never makes a negative comment. He is being judged by some of the nastiest people in history if you read up on Felix and Festus and Agrippa, yet he doesn't yell or point fingers at them. He just calmly shares the Lord's message. I think part of the issue the church has today is she has gotten to yelling and finge rpointing.
People will not listen or hear the Lord's message like that. We need to get calmly back to the business of spreading the Lord's message and let the rest sort itself out.

In our reading today, Mat. 8, I was again amazed at the reaction of the people in the last few verse. Here Jesus restored 2 men, sons, possibly husbands, and the town sent him who did this wondrous thing, away.
They valued the lives of pigs more than the lives of men.

Pro 27:27 And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
Since the maidens mentioned would be part of the household, then could this mean as soaps, and things for beauty?
