Do you keep a price book?
About ten years ago, I was very careful about keeping a price book. At first, DH thought I had lost it, but it was very informative and we became much more aware of our spending. (I was also writing down - with a pencil! - every time one of us spent a cent.)
A few years ago, I started keeping a price book for Costco without realizing. I actually had gotten tired of forgetting things, so I made a spreadsheet of things we buy there consistently because I could check that on my phone. Then I realized I count enter prices... and I set it up so that the numbers will turn red if we go over budget. It was really been helpful. By duplicating the sheet each month, I reazlied I was ended up with a pricebook (even if it was digital) when I had simply wanted a list. It's been a bonus.
Last weekend, I realized that we could really benefit from doing this for the other stores that we regularly use. I'll be working on that today.

I wish I had done this years ago and I think it's wonderful that you have. I sure do miss the days of good grocery deals and doubling/tripling coupons.
