Good morning, ladies. Today... well, here we go. It's DS1's birthday. He's 20 today. He has the day off. Unfortunately, he didn't tell us until we (DH and I) had made other plans. Actually DS told us he would be working... it's all good. DH took the day off. That just means he will use a vacation day up and didn't plan meetings. I will absolutely faint if he doesn't take a call, answer email, or end up in Zoom. 😂 Anyway: - Teach 6-7
- walk dogs (and walk myself) 7:30
- Make frosting
- Either frost the cake or make sure DS3 does it.
- Either make or go buy burger buns
- Make three recordings and email them off to their destinations (I could do this after lunch if need be)
- Watch recordings of student performances from last week before their lessons
- Teach noon to 1
- Make those recordings? Declutter? Check dishes?
- Wrap DS1's gift if DH hasn't already
- Prep burger patties and cheese slices for dinner.
- Teach 3:30-4:30
- Grill burgers if DH hasn't already
- Dinner must be at 5:00. I think that DH wants to have cake/presents in this window, too.
- DS2 has some sort of special tkd class tonight. They're calling it a class, but I think it's more like a practice/drill. I'm not sure. I wouldn't mind going to watch, but I will stay home with DS1 if he wants and do something he likes. I might even play a video game (NOT my scene, but it's his birthday...)
One thing I haven't figured out - tomorrow the boys have a FULL day between Youth and TKD - as in, leaving the house at 7:30 and not getting home until dinner. Either DH or I or both will have to ferry them about. DH is "short" a tkd class (for himself) this week. I need to find out when he's planning to go so I'm not planning something that conflicts. Have a great day.

Frosting is made (with extra to freeze for future use) DH is going to prep and grill the burger patties AND pick up buns (yay). Dogs fed and had half a walk. I met DH returning from his walk and came back with him to chat a little.
Helped DS3 (a little) with frosting. He's still getting the hang of a crumb coat/not tearing the cake. I will not be going to tkd tonight... DS1 wants (and, it seems, wants me also) to play video games. That will be interesting.
While in the kitchen, I baked some biscuits (and at one). They were just canned refrigerator biscuits so it was a way to use the time I was standing in there waiting for other things/people.
Working on recordings now.

A bit overwhelmed with things to do! Morning routine done, about to go to work. I need to find time and a way to get to the store: I would walk, but the temps are below freezing and it is windy as well, so the wind chill is murder. My friend who usually runs me around had a bad fall and got injured. I need a couple of items for the biscotti tree I am making for Christmas. I did a load of laundry, still need to do more when I get home.

Morning!
EOTS, how did DS3's class go yesterday?
I've been to my dad's and I'm just about done with towels. I've also cooked the chicken for tonight's dinner. At some point I need to do the floors that I didn't do yesterday as well as load coffee and tea.
Tonight is my mom's choir concert.

EOTS, how did DS3's class go yesterday? Well, there were several issues. Keep in mind, DH booked this class. He talked to me about the idea, but did the actual booking/choosing/scheduling without me. That's fine... in theory. 30 minutes prior to class, I sent him a text that DS needed his (DH's) login to enter the class. (DH is here, but perpetually in Zoom meetings between 9 AM and 5PM). A minute before class, I was slipping paper onto his desk (out of sight) to get the login credentials. THEN, the login kept getting rejected. DH ended up sending emails to the company and then on the phone to get DS into the class. (Luckily, DH's meeting ended so he could sort this out.) It turns out the company has been having trouble with their meeting service (not Zoom) and the teacher sent a Zoom link directly. So, DS3 got in 20 minutes late. They did not extend the class because the teacher had another class backed up right away. THEN... DS had to make the frosting himself. At first, I thought he misread it. Later, I realized there was an error in the recipe. One space gave measurements in weight; another by volume. The volume measurement was correct, but DS was using the weight measurements... as a result, he added three times as much water to the frosting. Needless to say, it was WAY too thin. I thought it looked odd... but I was trying not to interfere or "overstep" my bounds. I think he learned some about putting on a crumb coat, but he didn't get to try any decorating. That said, this morning he frosted DS1's cake (and learned more about creating a crumb coat with normally stiff icing) AND he finished frosting yesterday's cake with other frosting I gave him. I felt a little bad - he didn't even try to decorate it. When I asked why not (he's got bags and tips, etc), he said that he that the teacher yesterday didn't even get to talking about any of that. But, hey, we have some supplies now! Thanks for asking.

Had teleconference prayer at 12:15. Went to the dealership to pick up a part we needed for the car. Ordered gifts off Amazon and Walmart for grandkids. Stopped by the bank to get $2 bills as gifts. All Christmas gifts are taken care of.
