Ladies, I'm so sorry you had to deal with water/plumbing issues over the holiday! I'm glad you had places to visit at least.
Here, Christmas Eve was manic and, frankly, not my favorite Christmas Eve ever. I think there's a good chance it will be this way under DS3 finishes high school (youth group stuff - all good, but not communicated to allow time for planning). Anyway, yesterday morning, I was already thinking about alternative ways to prepare a meal for next year. I already broached the topic with DH so he's not surprised if I do something differently next year. That said... I still had water, all day long.
Christmas Day was quiet (which was fine with me). We got up, went to church and the pot luck after, came home, and had pizza for dinner.
Today, I have no grand plans. I am teaching my students in China this week, but it's only one or two each day and I'm done by 7:00 AM at the latest (and I wake up at 5 anyway). I would be happy to just crochet each day, but I know DH will get restless and we'll have to do something.
For lunch, I'm going to instruct the boys to eat leftovers (however they want to arrange them). For dinner, I'm not sure what protein I'll serve, but I'm going to make a ham and potato casserole. That will actually be all I need, but DH will see that as a side dish. And lately, the kids are eating more than even. More than once last week, the boys would eat their entire dinner, then just quietly go into the kitchen and make a sandwich. It's not as if I make small meals, either. Maybe it's the cold weather.
Sending you all hopes for restored water, warmer temps, and a peaceful day.
