Good morning Ladies,
this morning I feel impressed to name this thread Sabbatical Saturday. Sometimes in trying to be like the Proverbs 31 woman we forget that we need to take time out and refocus. I believe that is what the purpose of the Sabbath in the Bible was. Not just a day for the Lord, but also a day to rest. Jesus said that the Lord made the Sabbath for man, not man for the Sabbath. Especially we, as women, tend to work our fingers raw to accommodate our families to make them as comfy as possible and we forget ourselves. But if we don't take a break then our families will suffer from us being stressed out, tired and grouchy. Sundays are a lot like workdays, with church and everything going on, so the only day we actually have is Saturdays. So ladies, take a sabbatical Saturday, rest and don't overdo it. Your families won't starve, if they only have, what we in Germany call "Brotzeit" which means the kitchen stays cold and we'll have sandwiches. Make a buffet with different cold cuts, cheeses, veggies, dips and such to offer them, to serve themselves and then sit and rest. Do what relaxes you. Quilt, knit, sew, bake a cake or cookies if that relaxes you and if somebody complains that the house isn't spotless, show them where the broom closet is. Today is sabbatical Saturday, take it.
For me today, I am waiting on my grandson to come over (he is 18 now and allowed to drive on his own) to help carry some paper and such downstairs to throw away. This afternoon I have to work on Propresenter, we start services back up on Wednesday. Oh and I have to do the dishes, that is all though. I am going to take my own advice and relax.
Here is your verse for the day: Mk. 2:27-28 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Have an awesome day of R&R, ladies.
Love you all
Doris
