Doris, are you ok today? Well Yesterday I did... hmmm I watered the gardens... that was it. So today I tackle the kitchen front room put away and reboot laundry... I watered well so the gardens should be fine for a few days. Plus we are having a "cold" snap with highs in the 70s to 80s I chatted last night with my brother in Nashville, they had a big storm and lost power for 7 hours. My sister in McKenzie, same storm, they lost power for 3 hours and 3/4 of a tree. No real damage except for the aching muscles that come with cutting and moving 75ft of tree. Oh yesterday we went and I got my new prescription for a handicapped placard. In stead of 6 months, this one says I am permanently disabled so I only need to go do this every 4 years now. Dinner, MJ wants bbq pork chops in the slow cooker so I am going to get those started in a few, they are frozen so I will cook them all day.

Mel your " cold snap" would be my height of Summer temperature!
Doris, does your church start again today? Hope all goes well
Today I took Mum her shopping and Peter weeded her garden while I tried to mend her shower ~ sadly I think that she needs a whole new tap/shower hose set and that will have to wait until some of our restrictions are lifted and she can get a plumber in. I also have to investigate getting a builder in to remove her conservatory that is beginning to fall apart, considering that her house is only twenty years old it really isn't wearing very well. We're only supposed to visit with people in emergencies here while we're on lockdown, but my Mum is ninety years old, lives alone and was getting very worried about everything so I consider our visit was essential, I wore gloves and kept over six feet away from her at all times ( which was hard!) and Peter stayed outside.
Back home David has cut Hamish's hair radically short ~ I think this is what happens when you let your older brother cut your hair! I told Hamish it will be nice and cool for the Summer and we aren't seeing anyone anyway!
I have some nice beef mince that needs cooking tonight, if I get my oomph back after visiting Mum I will make it into a pie, otherwise it'll be a quick and easy bolognese.

It is overcast here and makes me want to not do anything. lol Chilly, too. I think the high is high 60's today. Mel- I am glad you only watered the gardens yesterday and that you were able to rest! Glad to hear your siblings had no real damage from their storms. Susanann- I agree that your visit was essential How lovely that you were able to see your mum, even at a distance. Doris- praying you are well and just busy with your church services. We had rain last night and a "storm" that lasted about 2 minutes. So far I have *swept the kitchen, foyer, and dining room *fed the pets *made DH's coffee and cleaned up *washed a load of towels (getting ready to dry them now) Still to do -S&S bathrooms -clean off my desk -clean the top shelf and door of my fridge -clean the trash can -clean/organize under the kitchen sink -transplant green beans Have a gorgeous day!

Well so far I have reset the towels, they were still a touch damp. unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and got it going. Set hand wash dishes to soak a bit took a part a plastic shelf and added part of it to the 1 in my bathroom. Giving me a bit more space but now I have an orphaned shelf. I set the pork chops up in the slow cooker I have a ham bone almost south, I think Katie will get it tonight for dinner. To keep her busy while we eat. There is still a good bit of meat on it. I think she will enjoy it. Next up, recheck towels. then reboot laundry

So far the dishes are washed, bed made, worked some in the garden, made the mile walk to the store and back because my blood sugar was high and I needed the exercise and I needed coffee anyway. Now to do some cleaning and organizing in the living room. Did my quiet time as well.

I've been forgetting to check this thread. I didn't do much today besides feed the animals and sweep the floors. I was walkingboutside and heard & felt a pop in that left knee. At least it didn't lock up on me as it has before but it hurts. The 14th can't come soon enough. Late in the afternoon I sat outside as dh fed the animals again and put chicken wire around the goose pen to keep the goslings from getting out. As the turkeys get bigger they'll go in there also. He let the goats out so I was entertained by their antics.
