For over twenty years, I've wanted an antique treadle sewing machine. We either couldn't find one, or afford one. I even figured if I couldn't have one, maybe we could find a table made from the base of an old machine.
Yesterday, my daughter went to a rummage sale and found a Singer treadle with all the drawers--get this--for only $15!!! We got it home and to my amazement it is in very good condition and should be able to work just find once I get a new belt (or whatever it's called, I have to research that.) We looked it up online and it was made in 1922.
I am over the moon happy! I love the antique look, the price was great, and I can still sew even when the power goes off (as it often does here.)

That’s wonderful!! I have one that a lady, whom we helped move, actually gave me. I have never used it (I hand stitch) but I love the look of it.
