Mold and mildew are something that are constant issues in this house. I actually had a mold expert come out and run tests, but, apparently, we are in the range of normal.
That said, I sure could use some advice on dealing with the mildew. DH installed fans in both bathrooms. For much of the year, they run constantly. That has helped slow things down. Now, mildew spray cleaner will work on the tiles and grout. Mildew also grows on the ceiling in the boys' bathroom, and that has slowed down a LOT. It's much more manageable.
But shower curtains? Ugh. They are practically disposable at this point. I had switched from plastic (which was not holding up in the washing machine) to cloth, but those also get really bad in a matter of months. The shower CURTAINS are okay, just the liners that are still getting in bad shape quickly.
Any suggestions for keeping mildew growth under control?

We keep a dehumidifier going 24/7 in our house and that gets emptied twice a day during the summer, which is a LOT of water being removed from the air. It REALLY helps, and was well-worth the money. For the bathroom, we always have the fan running during showers, then after showers, we also use a squeegee to remove water from the shower tiles. Sometimes I'll also wipe down the shower liner with my towel once I'm finished drying off, just to save on having to wash the liners so much.

We have a creek next to the house and a natural spring that runs down the hill into our yard, so the moisture issue is constant here.

Have you found a spray that works well for the ceiling part? Good suggestion about the dehumidifier, mountainma! I'm going to look into this as well.

I just try to keep an eye on the ceiling have one of the boys wipe it down as soon as I see it. It does come off easily, for which I'm grateful.

Last year, we moved into a rental house that is very old and not maintained; the doors and windows do not fit; air flows from outside, as do critters! There are water leaks everywhere. If it's 100% humidity outside, its very near that inside.(South Alabama) I have dehumidifiers in every room but the bathrooms--due to small size. It has made a difference. Thankfully we are out of here in 3 weeks as hubby has been transfered again. I hope I can pack them up and not use them again. This is the first house ever I have had to use dehumidifiers.
