No one posted yesterday - I'm not even sure I made it to my computer. I ended up at church two different times yesterday morning, and after lunch, DS2 and I went to a musical event that brought us home just in time for dinner.
Today will be a little busy... some of my students are starting their school year, so some of them are on my fall schedule, and at least one is still on the summer schedule (I am covering it all).
The pest control guy will be by today, and I believe I will be the only person over 18 who will be available to let him in.
In the morning, I'm going to assess the state of the house and plan the rest of my week.
I've also made a desicion about dinner (which has a huge impact on dishes). Dinner will be served at one time daily, no matter who is here. I will make up plates for those not here (at work or school). Those plates can be re-heated for dinner or even breakfast the next day... but after that, any one who wants it may eat it. (This summer, I had been trying to leave dinner "available" (e.g., in the slow cooker). The problem was that the last kid home might have been starving so picked up somethign to eat, never looked in the kitchen, etc. No more waking up to dirty dishes or pans for me. I told DS2 yesterday and he was fine with this plan. I'll tell DS1 when he gets home from work today (he's on a 24 hour shift). I think he'll be fine with it, too. We only needed to handle dinner this way a few times last year. Most of the time, DS1 saved it for his breakfast. The difference this year is that it will the "policy" every weekday for the semester.
Have a great day.
