Good morning ladies! This weekend we went to Cleveland. I needed some linen from a needlepoint store and then we went to an area with a bunch of stores that I don't have here. We went to World Market and picked up some stuff, and then I hit the sales racks at a couple of stores. I mostly struck out, but I did get a new denim skirt. Original price was $138, with tax, I paid $32.
Today is a quiet day at work, and I also need to get the yearbook addendum finalized for my DAR chapter. Tonight we're going to run out and order DH a pair of nice sunglasses.

A restful day for me; it is supposed to get to 113 today so I am going nowhere. Bed is stripped and made, two loads of washing done, quiet time done, still have two loads of wash to do at least. Cat got heat sickness and puked all over my white bedspread. Yuck. I was pleasantly surprised by my utility bill, seeing as the constant AC was a factor, but then we had the power outage for days, so I guess it evened out. As for my comments of yesterday, my son Patrick who has spent most of his life homeless, an alcoholic, has been in the care of his ex wife because he has out of control diabetes, cirrosis of the liver and is incontinent. She was kind enough to take him in and he had been caring for their kids so she could work, but he fell off the wagon HARD yesterday and brought the police to the door. This could jeopardize her living situation and possibly involve CPS. I am beyond devastated; I thought things were finally changing for the better, and he has thrown it all away for alcohol. I am just....broken. Please pray. This is a hard time for me anyway, as my birthday is the 29th and that is the day my Darrell died. Anyway, I want to get my kitchen cleaned up and clean the bathroom before my Elevate class tonight.

Good morning, ladies.
I've stayed busy this morning. Last week, I decided to go ahead and open up some time to teach for one of the English companies I used to work for. I always did well with them, but had not taught for them for about a year. Wowzers. Within hours I had two classes booked; by this morning, I had most of my classes for next week booked, and a few more added today. The pay is low, but there are some other perks: less prep, I can choose my own schedule. Anyway, I taught a class this morning at 6. If the child hadn't been excruciatingly shy, it would have been an easy lesson. At least that will get better.
I taught another lesson to a long time student. Since then, I've stayed busy planning for the rest of this month. I've been a little slacking in that department, but now I should be in good shape to spend next week planning all of September, which will put me back on a good planning schedule.
I ate lunch and prepped dinner (half is in a slow cooker, I'm going to put the other half in soon). I also dealt with the pest control man and my neurotic dogs.
I have a few things to do upstairs and then I have classes from 2-5 back to back this afternoon.
Merrileem, I'm so sorry.

Today I have to meet with a bride to give back her wedding gown, then run to the bank before it closes. Dd1 wants to make a trip to the grocery store as several things we needed were not in stock last time. After that, I need to alter a bridesmaid dress.

I fed the animals this morning and worked on the quilt top. Almost have it finished pieced together. Other than that I just slept off & on. Not feeling good. Had a little sore throat & headache yesterday and now nauseated, heart rate jumping up over 100 walking across the room and oxygen dropping low. I did a Covid test last night and it was negative. Must be some other virus. I did go pick up the day old bread. Dh will unload it when he gets home.
