Today is the beginning of a weird week.
DS1 is already off to work. He will be gone all day every day (at least 13-14 hours, two days).
DS2 has work and school, meaning he's out of the house 12+ hours daily.
DH is in Chicago.
So, it's me and DS3 and the two dogs daily (and the first part of the evening) until DH is back. I was thinking about taking DS3 somewhere just to change up the scenery. He has schoolwork each day, but we can work around that. We'll see.
DS3 has cooking class this afternoon, making a casserole, so that's dinner.
I have my monthly work planning to do, but I had some spare time yesterday after DH left and I made a big dent it in. It will be good to have that out of the way.
I have eight classes total today, one at 7 AM and the rest back to back this afternoon. Then I'll have reports after that. I should be done by 6.
I have some wants (definitely not needs!). I decided to open up teaching times with a company with whom I still have a contract, but haven't taught for a year. Surprise! Every class time I opened filled up. it's nice to see that happen. It's not great money, but it's easy work and it doesn't conflict with my other classes. It's awful early, but I'm up anyway.
This morning, I'm going to sort of work my Motivated Moms list, but mostly, I'm going to be assessing the house to see what I'd like to tackle this week.
Have a great day.

Good morning! I woke up to a weather alert (flood warning) on my phone. By the time I got the alert, our road was already flooded over. So, I guess mail will not run today and we won't be leaving the house to run errands. Dh is already at work. This happens a couple or three times a year, but the water usually goes down after several hours. It's a bigger concern now because we only have one way in and out on our road now that a bridge on the other end is being replaced. Plus, we are supposed to get more rain this week. Ever since our big flood 7 years ago, I get really nervous when this happens! If it continues to rain and/or flood, mudslides will cause trees to slide down the mountains and cause issues.
It's still raining, so I'm going into what we call "storm mode" here. Basically, we anticipate losing power, water, internet, and possibly phone. I charge up anything that requires it, etc.
Hopefully everything will be fine, but I do like to be prepared. Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning ladies!!!!! Sandra, good luck with your planning and that's wonderful about the classes filling up.
MM - good luck preparing and I do hope that it is for nothing and that your power stays on.
Niagara Falls was a lot of fun. But I ate way to much sugar and my joints are not happy, especially my ankles and feet.
So far today, my morning routine is done, my planner is set up for the week and I've been plodding through work. Tonight is going to be a chill night at home and an early bed time.

Thank the Lord, we are fine and the water receded on our road. Sad news is, a few other areas DID get flooded and it isn't pretty. When you live in the mountain state, it happens. Others areas get hurricanes and earthquakes. We get floods.

Our AC went out AGAIN. The guy came out and found the freeon sp? was gone, so there had to be a leak in the line. He squirted some sealer into the line and it is working again, but if it doesn't hold, we may be on the leash for a whole new system. We will know whether it worked in a day or two. So far, bed made, quiet time done, went to the grocery store, planned meals for the week, vacuumed the living room, did another load of laundry and put clean sheets on Ryan's bed. Trying to work up the energy to clean the bathroom and mop the floors.

Our heat went, but it was a single HVAC unit and the a/c was outdated enough we had to replace the entire thing. It's not fun. I'm sorry you're dealing with this during all this heat, too.

Yesterday I had left my Inogen One (supplemental oxygen unit) at church so this morning, after feeding the animals, I went to get it. Worked on the quilt then went to town to pick up the day old bread and deliver eggs. Tonight I’ll continue quilting and feed the animals again.
