Do you ladies have menus? I have always dreamed of being that organized. I want to have a menu. MJ randomly decides he doesn't like... for example chicken. He 9/10 times won't eat it. His favorite things are tuna mac ground beef anything burgers. He has decided he likes fresh cod. It is so expensive here though! ($17 a lb) which is 1 meal because he will finish it off. I like to make the cod because I like to see him eat real food instead of ramen or plain rice. He like the frozen breaded fish too but it is mostly breading and little fish now days.
Plus real veggies, broccoli and such are hit and miss. I hasve to pull mine out first, because he likes his cooked to mush and I do not. I have a fully stocked pantry and freezer.
I know Wednesday will be teriyaki chicken over rice, because I have a package of that. I have pork steaks and chicken breast and burgers and I imagin some ground beef in there somewhere. I have shrimp for me, he won't eat it. I have lots of beans, canned and dry but he has suddenly decided he doesn't want a lot of beans in his stuff. He like spaghetti but i can't eat cooked tomato anymore. (this has happened in the last year, along with increased sensitivity to strawbewrris, raspberries and pecans I can't have any without my throat getting scratchy and gunky) Raw tomatoes, no issue just the cooked ones.
Friday is usually fen night, we fix our own. Depending on how tired he is I will make his whatever he wants to fix.
I only cook 1 meal. My breakfast is usally a banana, ham and cheese sandwich (1 slice each of bread, ham and cheese) and a yogurt.
Lunch is the same sandwich or leftovers. Then dinner is whatever I come up with.
I am hoping to get my inventory lists up this afternoon.

Yes... and no. It's gotten more complicated (not bad, just complicated) to plan since DS3 started his cooking classes this year. He usually (not always) makes dinner twice a week, sometimes three times a week, sometimes zero. Plus, I have to adapt whether there will be 2, 3, 4, or 5 people home for dinner. Lately, leftovers aren't gettting eaten up because the oldest two are almost alwyas out of the house and have taken to buying things (on their own) to make their lunches. That's great, of course, but I am really focused on minimizing leftovers. But here is this week's menu: - Sunday: chips and silly junk (football game)
- Monday: bolognaise dauphinoise potatoes (DS3's class)
- Tuesday: pancakes at church
- Wednesday (My day to cook this week): probably pork roast with brussels sprouts and stuffing
- Thursday: pasta alla nora with aubergine (DS3's class)
- Friday: wonton soup (DS3's class). DH won't eat this. I may give him a heads up so he can decide if he wants to make himself a salad for dinner. I don't seem to be able to anticipate any more what he feels like eating when I know the menu is something he will not eat.
- Saturday: pizza of course.
I have gotten inserts which divide the slow cooker into sections. On Wednesdays, I teach up until 5. My plan is to put each food in it own section. DH isn't fond of slow cooker meals. I think he's just not a fan of casseroles. He's been very tolerant the past few years with how often I use it when I'm working right up until the minute he wants to eat. It would be nice for both of us if this insert system works out.

I haven’t created a menu. I really should because, even though it’s just me Mon-Fri, I should know plan ahead so I can have the meat thawed out.

I haven’t created a menu. I really should because, even though it’s just me Mon-Fri, I should know plan ahead so I can have the meat thawed out. when I lived alone, before I was married, I would choose one recipe each week. I'd make it on Sunday night and have it for leftovers the rest of the week. I know not everyone likes leftovers, but I really enjoyed getting to try new recipes this was.

We do some menu planning. Some meals, we know the entire meal before we head to the store, other meals are just the protein.
Breakfast usually is either bran cereal or overnight oats with either fruit or jam.
Lunch for DH is a peanut butter sandwich, clementine or grapes (depending on the time of year) and then something sweet (right now, mini moon pies). Lunch for me is whatever I come up with to batch cook on the weekend. Lately, I have been on a frozen dumpling kick (either chicken or pork). This week is 3 dumplings, roasted baby bok choy and then I roasted a bag of frozen broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. I'll also have the clementine or grapes.
Dinner this week (we plan Sat - Fri): * Saturday: Grilled cheeseburgers and chips along with salad * Sunday: Meatloaf, baked potatoes, mixed greens (we get the small cans of sensibly seasoned), carrots * Monday: Grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches and canned soup * Tuesday: ham, mac & cheese, applesauce, and probably another frozen veg * Wednesday: beef and rice burritos and salad * Thursday: pork chops * Friday: chicken with a jerk chicken rice mix

Well, we ended up changing up the menu plan for the week, since we remembered that we are taking someone out to lunch after church on Sunday. That means that we will had a very big lunch and have very little time to cook and eat between the time that we get home and when I have to leave for choir practice. Oh, and DH wants homemade pizza for Friday
Saturday: grilled cheese and soup using the bread that I just made Sunday: breakfast sandwiches Wednesday: beef and rice burritos Friday: homemade pizza
The rest of the meals are: 1. beef patties and gravy 2. chicken parm 3. pork chops in potato gravy

- Sunday: 2 people. Pasta*
- Monday: 4 people. Pasta*
- Tuesday: 2 people. Pasta*
- Wednesday: dinner at church
- Thursday: 3 people. Pasta*
- Friday: 5 people. Curried chicken
- Saturday: pizza
DH is out of town most of this week, and DS's classes are only making an entree on Friday.
There is so much pasta on the menu because there are so many patiral boxes of pasta from DS's various classes that there is no space in the pantry for them. I have various ingredients for everythign from mac-n-cheese with chopped ham bits to Italian style sauces with sausage. This will be the week of entrees made from leftover bits of all kinds.

We had yet another chance in the menu. Instead of beef patties in gravy, we are doing steaks. We found a couple on sale at the grocery store.
