I find myself at a cross roads, and I would appreciate some input from you all.
I am pondering making efforts at teaching crochet. Let me give a little more detail. I have some very specific ideas about how to teach others to crochet/learn to crochet that I've never seen anywhere before. My thinking is to create short courses that don't just cover stitches, but would combin creating a project with learning to think about crochet in a way to make your own items, based on your own ideas.
I don't want to do this on a blog or youtube because, the way the algorithms work right now, creators spend 90% or more of their time dealing with everything except their topic and make very small percentages to boot. I just don't want to spend my time doing those other things. So, if I did this, I would offer paid courses through a hosting site.
My criteria for course "topics" are that each must
Finally! My question for you:
What is something practical that you would be happy to make yourself? Something you would use and would be extra pleased to be able to customize?
Some things that I have made include:
But I've also made
I've made other things, too, that I'm probably not thinking of. But I'm really curious what you would be really happy if you could make yourself.
Thanks. I have no idea if I will go in this direction, and if I do, I will take slow steps forward. But I think that your input would be very helpful to me.

My criteria for course "topics" are that each must
- be a bargain (affordable and the person goes "wow" after they finish, realizing how much they learned)
- have transferable knowledge. So, something you learn in one project is a skill you can use to make something else.
- be practical. Whatever it is has to be practical. I love to make afghans, but we can only use so many and they aren't as easy to give away as you would think.

Some things that I have made include:
- afghans (of course)
- sweaters (of course)
- hats (of course)
- scarves (of course)
- dish/wash cloths (of course)
But I've also made
- curtains
- dishtowels
- hair towels (the kind you can wrap around your hair)
- rugs
- dog beds
I've made other things, too, that I'm probably not thinking of. But I'm really curious what you would be really happy if you could make yourself.
