Ella, I hope you finally got a human rep. I'm not a fan of those phone robot systems.
Saturday was a wild day here in terms of activity. We had a neighborhood gathering - kind of a potluck, but there wasn't much. The weather was ominous, so I think people just stopped in to visit and then scampered home. DH, DS3 & I went to a contra dance. It was the first one where I actually felt like I was keeping up (at least, mostly).
Sunday, we had a good visit with my aunt yesterday. DH, DS2, DS3 & I met up with her at a restaurant none of us had tried before. It was great. Hopefully, we'll see her again in a year or so.

This weekend was uneventful. Saturday I spent a little while in the garden, crocheted hearts and pieced on a quilt block. Dh went to a church men's fellowship at a bowling alley. That evening dh fried leg quarters. He seasoned it heavily with herb/garlic seasoning. He bought it without reading the ingredients so didn't know one of the first ingredients was salt. I ate two so, with my lunch that had some salt, my weight yesterday morning was up by 4 lbs! Stayed home from church (dh went though) and took extra dose of fluid pill. Within 4 hours I had lost all 4 lbs. Ds called to see what we had planned for dinner. We met him for dinner (supper). Had a wonderful visit of course.

Life is a whirl right now. Dd2 is still having difficulty with her pregnancy, even at 5 and a half months. The severe morning sickness has left her vitamins/nutrition depleted, so she will have to get an iron infusion. She has vitamins but cannot keep them down and her vitamin D and C are still much too low. I'm praying she and the baby will be ok.
Dh's dad took another fall on Friday and has not eaten since then, and sleeps most of the time. He was awake a few brief minutes yesterday, but not long enough to eat (although he had no desire to do so anyway.) Hospice has been helping and we're thankful for them.
I continue to gain weight and swell. Still waiting to see the doctor for my liver, but so far they can't see me until July. No matter what I eat or don't eat, I gain weight and have digestion issues. Dd1 thinks I may have developed Celiac, as she and dd2 both have it.
I know this post must seem depressing, but otherwise, we are doing ok. It's just a crazy season of life right now. LOL!

Hello ladies. Ella, I'm glad the patches are working on your knees. I feel like I may be coming down with a cold or something. Runny nose, headache, and sore throat. All of those symptoms are mild so not too bad. Yesterday afternoon sat outside in the garden while dh put some of the fence up. The garden space is surrounded by woods so I parked my chair under a tree. The temperature was in the mid 70's so felt good. Listened to birds and roosters, watched 6-7 six week old puppies play and snooze, and watch the foal follow the other horses walk through the woods. I wouldn't trade this country living for anything!

Hi ladies.
Ella, I'm glad you're getting some relief. Gina, I've had this itching on my arm and it just dawned on me... It's a poison ivy rash. I can't believe I got into that. I know when I did, but I also know better. I wasn't paying attention.
Today was fine... for a while. Got up, quiet time, and then it's been like an avalanche. I had two extra meetings on top of lessons this morning, two kids at the dentist this afternoon, one of the dogs is limping. I know she has arthritis in that leg, but today, she's really struggling. Even if I cancelled my classes, I couldn't skip the dentist for DS3 (DS1 is old enough to go on his own, and he's taken DS3 in the past, but DS3 requested my presence today to discuss his wisdom teeth). Plus - the vet has no openings! When I finish teaching, DH will be finished working (he says) and we'll take the dog ot the walk-in vet.
In the meantime... I forgot to put dinner in the slow cooker until it was too late for today.
On the upside, the weather is beautiful and there is a grocery store right by the walk in vet. They stock a lot of quick cook meals - they even have a special section where you can grab a bag that already has everything in it for dinner. We probably won't do that, but we could grab a rotisserie chicken or something like that.

Sandra, I didn't see what stung me Tuesday but by yesterday morning that area was swollen, warm, red, hard, and very itchy. The doctor said it was an allergic reaction to whatever stung me. I have to use a steroid cream for two weeks. I haven't gotten into any poison ivy or oak in quite a few years. That stuff does not faze dh. He can handle it with no problem.
This morning I went to a friend's house to get a whole lot of food stuff from a food bank and her freezer. I'm going to take much of the pantry stuff to church so after service the college kids can go shopping from our car. I've unloaded the car and taking inventory of my pantry so I can load the car for Sunday. I'm making chicken and dumplings for dinner.

Gina, poison ivy/oak never bothered me at all untli I got into a patch when I was in my 40s. That was memorable, so I steer clear now... well, usually 🤦🏻♀️
I'm hoping for a more settled day today. The dog is doing better. I think she had gotten tired from limping. DH & I tried to take her to the walk in vet, but they closed an hour earlier than on their signs and website. The dog enjoyed the car ride, though. Both dogs are in a spate of a "kitchen phobie." They run like there's something in there we can't see. The problem is that their food bowls are there. It bugged DS3 so much last night he put them on leashes and walked them in there and held them there until they ate. I must be mean. I figure when they're hungry enough, they'll eat.
DS3 will make tonight's dinner - some sort of lemon chicken served with couscous. I won't need to shop much this weekend - We'll only be home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Last Wednesday no one was home for dinner. Anyway, I can mostly rely on what I'd planned to cook this week and didn't get to. BUT... we are supposed to serve the youth dinner on Sunday, and that I will need to make some decisions about and plan.
I have about 5 hours staright of lessons after lunch today. I have one to teach this morning, and then I'm going to hem some new pants before lunch. It needs to be done, and any more, I find that sort of chore relaxing.

Good afternoon ladies!!!
Last week, DH and I were in Tennessee for vacation, and the second half of the week before that was chaotic.
The trip was restful, we saw friends, we saw bears and tomorrow we are back to the grind.

I don't know if any of you ladies remember Memory (don't remember her user name) from years ago. Dh & I met up with her & her dh this afternoon for her to buy some hens from me. They live about 3 1/2 hrs from us so we met halfway. I hadn't seen her in about 12 yrs.
A second cousin of dh's was a football player for Baylor and was just drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yesterday was long - started at church and ended at church with a tkd practice in between. I also prepared dinner for the youth while the boys were at tkd.
While the dinner was baking, I made some important progress on a crochet project. I've been toying with making valances for the front living room and dining room. I think I got the design down yesterday, and now I can just stitch the pattern. It's a simple design - the issue was more in the fit of the windows. There are four, and only two are the same size.

Good afternoon ladies! Gina, that's so cool about your DH's cousin. Today has been an insane day. I have so many major work projects going right now, it's almost a full-time job to keep them straight Tonight DH and I will run some errands after dinner and then I want to get my next project onto my needles.

Good morning ladies!
Today is going to be another busy day at work. I think it will be pretty crazy for the next month and a half and then it should slow down. Tonight I have book club. We read a pretty interesting book called The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady, b Sharon J. Mondragon. The title really is from left field. It's basically about a group of ladies that knit prayer shawls.
I didn't tell you what happened to DH. A month or so ago, he had ordered shirts from Joseph A Banks. Well one he never received tracking on, it was just lost somewhere. So he called them, and they did a new order (didn't charge us again), and expedited it. We got it and it didn't fit, so DH tried to return it, but they refused to wait on him - said he would have to wait - but he had an appointment so he just left. Before we could try and return it the second time, they sent him another shirt, so we had to wait for it to show up before we could do the return. We had two shirts and only paid for one. When he took them back, they refunded the price of the one, but for the other they had to issue store credit - even though DH tried to tell them that we didn't pay for it. It was the only way to get the shirt back in their inventory. So now DH has a credit to use there.

Hello ladies!
I read a lot of posts but do not post much myself. My life is pretty quiet since retirement. I mostly work on my crafts, lately it has been acrylic painting. I'm unable to crochet for very long due to arthritis, so it takes me a long time to complete a project. My husband is starting to work on the camper to get it ready for camping season. I check on an elderly neighbor twice a day, and one week a month I deliver Meals on Wheels.
