Christmas is still a few months away, and now is a good time to start planning any long-term projects to finish in time for the holidays. Anyone working on crochet or quilting? Woodwork? I'm still working on my mother-in-law's quilt restoration. Hope to have it finished by Christmas.

I am working on aprons, or will be. I will do napkin sets and some dishcloths too. For the kids i have a good sized toy pile but might make G-Man and Boogie Boy their own personal washcloths...

I have cowls planned for my nieces. Hanne' is getting one too. I have the yarn purchased and one is done. They're very long and can be worn a variety of ways so I think they'll like them. I described it to the older niece and she thought it sounded like something she and her sister would like. Hanne borrows mine so I know she likes it. I'm thinking cowls for Dad and my brother. Just regular cowls but maybe colorwork? Depends on what I find and how close it is to Christmas. For Mom, I made a shawl for her birthday but it's almost a scarf. I could do a different style. I have one in mind that she might like. She gets her hair done once a week and won't even wear anything that has to pull over her head so hats are out. Hmmm. For my boys and DH I haven't decided yet. Emile is knitworthy but Marwan is warm-natured. Though he might like a new afghan. We'll see. Time might get away. It could be combination Christmas and birthday (early March). DH might appreciate something he can wear in the food truck when it's cold. Maybe hat with matching fingerless gloves and cowl. Children are the most delightful pledges in a loving marriage. They are the best wool on the sheep. - Martin Luther

Fingerless gloves are so neat! Those are popular with young people here, especially, because they can keep their hands warm while still using their cell phones and other electronics.

Right now I'm working on my sister's quilt for her birthday in early Oct. Then I have two baby quilts to make for two church friends babies due in Dec. So Christmas gifts will be made in Nov. Not a clue on what to make. I'll make something for dh. Grandkids I always buy theirs off Walmart or Amazon and have them delivered.

I've started on Christmas shopping, just getting an item or two at a time as the budget allows and according to good deals I find on needed items. So far I found a shirt for son-in-law and a tie for dh. I also started on stocking stuffers. These will go in a small tote to be distributed for Christmas morning.
