I know that many of us - especially those who find themselves thrust into online learning - aren't thinking about next year, yet.
But I certainly am! I usually have everything chosen for next year by this time. WE have a few things to select in June, but I think we'll be set by June 30, then end of this year.
DS1 will be in 12th grade. He'll be doing an all online program. He wants to use it because it has online coursework in being an EMT, and that's the career he's focused on now. The program is an all-in-one, so we agreed that, since we're already paying for it, he'll do his core classes there, too.
Similar situation for DS2, who will be entering tenth grade. He's interested in several blue collar jobs, and there's an online course site that offers classes in HVAC, electrical, etc. Again, it's an all-in-one, and since we're paying for everything, he'll do his core classes through there, also.
DS3 will be entering 8th grade. He'll be in one of my literature classes (online), as well as a combination history/geography class. He's looking forward to that. I'm going to try him in teaching textbooks next year. It's been good for both of his brothers this year, so I want to give him a chance on that. Science is the hardest one for him. He loves it, and he just BLOWS THROUGH science courses. This year, before the end of the first semester, he did EVERY middle school science class in a site that I had a subscription to. He did the same thing the previous year on a different site. I'll be thinking about this in the next few weeks. It has to be something he can do independently.
