Hello ladies, My newest fascination is with The Appalachian mountains fiction and non/fiction both. I loved both the book and the movie hillbilly elegy. Then I purchased from eBay a book I loved as a tween Mountain Laurel by Anne Emery. It’s a sweet but trying coming of age story about a girl in the Appalachian Mountains, Now I’m reading Angels of the Appalachians. Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t the foxfire books Appalachian related as well? Anyone share my interest? Hugs and God bless, Helen(grammea)

Yes, the Foxfire books were Appalachian based. When we go to Book Barn we'll have to look for some Foxfire.

I think the book Christy by.... I want to say Catherine Marshall is Appalachia based as well. There was a short tv series by that name based on the book. Very loosely based. It was where I first saw Kelly Martin and loved her work.
A similar work not from Appalachia but from the Alps, written by the author of Heidi, is Children of the Alps. You may enjoy it as well.
