I use a glass gallon jar for this.
Day 1 1 29 oz. can of peaches 1 cup of sugar stir daily keep covered in warm area(room temperature) Day 10 1 16 oz can of pineapple chunks 1 cup of sugar stir daily Day 20 1 can fruit thingytail small jar of maraschino cherries 1 cup of sugar Day 30 drain saving 1 1/2 juice for your next starter share the remainder with friends..
Cake 1 (2 layer) pkg. white cake mix 1 1/2 c. Friendship Cake Starter 2/3 c. oil 4 eggs 1 c. chopped pecans Combine cake mix, Friendship Cake Starter, oil and eggs in bowl, mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour into greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan few minutes. Invert onto serving plate. Can be baked in 2 loaf pans.
You can also make your own cake from scratch. I am going to use the fruit in a fruitcake.
