I had not realized that stress can affect your sugar level. I had been stressed for a few days and was wondering why my sugar was up. Did some research on it and, yep, stress can cause it to go up. Stress also can cause my CHF to worsen. Now I have a good reason to tell others to not make me upset.

Gina, I have a friend who deals with this. And it doesn't have to be typical stress. It seems that when she's coming down with something - even before she has symptoms, she'll notice her blood sugar getting out of control for no clear reason.
it's interesting to think how stress impacts our entire bodies.

Well that explains it then. I caught Charlie's cold, and am dealing with MJ, also having a cold. Since Friday my BG has been around 190-200. My normal is 70-80. This morning it was 162. I guess I am getting better since it is going down. I could not for the life of me figure out why it was so high when I am staying on my food plan, high protein, high fiber, low carb.
Thank you for the information!

Sandra, when I got my second dose of Covid vaccine my fasting glucose was high. My doctor said it was the vaccine. The shot gave me a headache and fever so the high glucose wasn't uncommon she said.

I will be so glad to get over this cold. My glucose was 218 this morning! It hasn't been that high in over a year! I am not eating any differently either. I went ahead and added a glipizide this morning to my cinnamon.
