Gina, ouch. I hope that's resolved quickly today.
Michelle, we don't have a landline - I actually miss one, but I don't even know if it's available here. We have backups for power and internet... but sometimes I wish we didn't.
Well, yesterday turned out to be a challenging afternoon and I'm afraid I wasn't at my best. The boys' oral surgery went pretty much as you'd expect... except... So, I like to plan ahead. I had specifically asked about restrictions after the surgery. I was a little skeptical about what I was told, and I should have pushed back, because it was extremely different than what I'd been led to expect.
First, both boys (and by boys, I mean 6'1" and 5'11" tall "boys") were still under the effects of anaesthesia when they were led to the car to go home. I thought DS3 was all right, but one of the workers (nurse or P.A.) told me that he wasn't going to remember anything said to him still at that point. DS2 (who went second) needed even more assistance to walk to the car and once there... well, here's an example. He tried to lay down in the car, but the nurse/P.A. put a stop to that. When I reminded him to buckle up, he tried to put on two seat belts at the same time (but couldn't find the buckle for either). On the way home, he was typing messages on his phone since it was hard to understand his speech. I had to remind him I couldn't read while driving (It turned out to be an order for me to get him at Chick-Fil-A). DH helped me get them in the house and into chairs.
I was already not thrilled with the doctor's office (there was more that I left out here). I had Rx to pick up for them. I stopped at the pharmacy I always use... and it was like being in the Twilight Zone. I actually didn't even call out the tech who was "helping" me because, well, it was obvious. As in, she told me that the doctor gave me duplicates of the Rxs. I had to emphatically point out that they may have been the same/similar, but they were for different people. There was more, but in the end, the pharmacist said they didn't stock the type of pain medication the doctor ordered so I scooped those Rxs up and left. I took them to Publix where the staff was great.
And then, poor DS3 vomited. There could be lots of reasons, but DH & I are suspicious because it didn't happen until he took the pain medication. I can't keep any oral narcotic down unless I am also given that super expensive anti-nausea medication. He said he felt much better after being sick. I still called the doctor... and no one called me back. Yeah, not happen about that.
Anyway, I'm glad it's a new day. DS2 got up at four... and then DH & I did, too. DS3 is still sleeping.

I am so sorry that things went so badly for the boys.
Right now I am drowning. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep up at work, let alone keep up at home. I'll try and pop in as I can, but until the 17th, I may be scarce.
(And right now I'm in a meeting, which is the only reason that I was able to pop in)

Poor guys! When they are finally able to eat regular food they're going to eat you out of house and home. Stock up now. Hope you made a ton of soup because it's going to take a lot to fill them up.
I hope I can at least get a temporary crown put on today. Today's heat index is supposed to be up to 107 so I'm doing nothing outside until at least 7:30pm. I can hardly walk through the front garden because of all the watermelon vines especially where the watermelon and cucumber vines meet up. Trained most of the cuke vines to go up the fence but still quite a few trailing along the ground. Not nearly as bad in the back garden since it got a later start.

Well, ladies, I am on my way out the door back to the doctor with DS3. He looks better than yesterday, but not great. DH and I talked yesterday about our doubts about DS3's mission trip next week. I brought it up to DS this morning and he nodded. I pointed out that we had the option of going back to the doctor to be checked (earlier than scheduled), even if he just tells us everything is normal. DS wanted to do that, so here we go. I have a feeling that the doc will say he's showing slow progress but it's still okay... but no trip next week. I'll find out soon if my prediction is correct.

When I went to the dentist last Tuesday he said he didn't think the tooth was in good enough shape to support a crown so he had to pull the tooth. He prescribed Tylenol #3. I took one that afternoon as soon as I picked it up and two before going to bed. That evening the entire roof of my mouth hurt. That's been all. Haven't needed anything since. Yesterday, with the rain our temperature was down, I should've been in the garden but instead I went to the social security office then Lenard and I went to ds's. He had bought a new car and was getting rid of his old one. It was having a transmission problem that a couple of mechanics said might be just a sensor issue but getting to the sensor was a big job. He couldn't afford to get it fixed so we're buying the car from him for very little and we'll get it fixed. So we went to his house to get the car and I followed Lenard as he drove it to the mechanic to leave it. Then ds treated us to dinner. So tonight I'm getting in the back garden.

Gina, sounds like you healed up quickly. That's great.
So, the oral surgeon said DS3 is actually doing okay and gave him the green light on the trip all around. I don't know if it was just the reassurance of the visit or if he's crossed the line of healing, but DS3 clearly felt better this morning. He told me his swelling is down and he actually wants to cook (he didn't even want to watch his cooking class yesterday.) So, next, we scrambled with the list of things he needs to bring that we don't have. I was able to order a bunch of small things from Amazon that are supposed to be delivered tonight. We will have to go out for a few things, but if we can cut down on driving all over creation looking for all these sundry items, it will be good. A lot of the things he needs for the trip will be things he will use for years, including a nail apron and work boots. Anyway, he is definitely feeling better.

Sandra, glad that ds3 is still clear for his trip. My girls were hilarious when they had their wisdom teeth out. Dd1 was wide eyed and WILD, talking non-stop about how she was from a different, other-worldly place, and asking why the car moved so slow because in her world, they flew everywhere real fast. She was worried her daddy was kidnapping her because her AK-47 was missing from the back seat, and that was just where she left it! Dh recorded the whole thing. Of course she fell asleep and never remembered anything she said. LOL! Dd2 came out of surgery, apologized for hitting the doctor, and promptly slept for 2 days with hardly another word. LOL! We had to convice her she didn't actually hit the doctor, because she was afraid he got hurt.
I am not sleeping well at night. Every year, at least one baby deer is born in our yard, sometimes it's twins. This week there was another birth and the fawn (or fawns) are very fussy and cry for the mama until she hears and comes back for feedings. This new little one gets hungry at 3 a.m. and is so insistent, it wakes me up! Last year's fawn was fussy, too, but not nearly as noisy as this one. LOL! At least we know it's not hurt, just hungry. I'm sure by next week it will be more content.

I just had a scare. I was in town waiting for Lenard to get off work. No sense going home then coming back and besides the house wasn't cooling off very well (he'll fix it when we get home). I was at a public park sitting in the car on my phone when a woman pulled up right down from me. She was on her phone but kept looking at me. Finally she left, came back around, parked two spaces down and was either taking pictures of me or videotaping me! I left and called Lenard when I saw her following me. I drove to his job expecting his boss would be there (they live on the premises). Passed the police station but at night the sheriff's dept takes over and there station is in another town. The lady followed me all the way to his job but once I got there she turned around and left.

Gina, that is scary. Glad you had a safe place close by to drive to. Someone local here posted about an attempted abduction last night on Nextdoor.
Rebekah, that's funny. I had my wisdom teeth out in two sessions. I only had nitrous for the second session (different oral surgeon). The girl who sat with me between the time they administered it and the surgey kept trying to chat me up, and I wouldn't respond at all. I knew I might come off as rude, but to be honest, I had NO IDEA what might come out of my mouth and I didn't trust myself to say anything.

Sandra, I had to drive about 5 miles with her on my tail. What makes this even more scary is that I know she was driving a small black car with what I think was a Nissan emblem on the front but no front license plate. Since she was following me I couldn't see the back. Also, all I know about her is that she was black with short curly hair but she could change that easily with extensions. She had her phone in front of her face most of the time. So I could run into her at the grocery store and wouldn't even know it but she got a good look at my face and my car really stands out. In our town of 4,000 it'll be hard to avoid her.

Yesterday my neighbor called. Her brother had brought her seven large garbage bags of freshly cut hay. She had told him she'll take one bag for her nesting boxes in her coop. So she asked if I wanted the other six. No way was I going to turn that down! My goats love it plus I put some in the nesting boxes. There's enough to last a few weeks. A square bale runs around $14 so this will save us at least $35.

Good afternoon, ladies!!! Things are finally calming down at work. My major project is done, and I feel like I'm getting caught back up. It is so good to be able to pop back in here Gina, that is scary about the lady following you!

Michelle, yay for getting your project finished! I always feel relieved whenever a sewing alteration is done and delivered.
Gina, hopefully that lady has no ill intentions towards you.
Dd2 has weekly appointments now. The doctor says they plan to take the baby 2 weeks early instead of one week. Her baby shower is supposed to be July 13th, but now I'm wondering if we can have the shower before he arrives! LOL!

Rebekah, considering how she's been feeling, maybe having it after wouldn't be a bad idea

So...
I volunteered to help at the library summer reading program activity today. I volunteered so long ago that I had no recollection what the activity was.
It was a sort of clay/nature/mosaic craft.
For preschoolers.
Ladies, I forgot how loud a group of twenty (or so) happy preschoolers can be even when they are very well behaved and generally very happy to be there.
